GreenHitz.com Posted February 21, 2011 Report Share Posted February 21, 2011 Eldorado Red, a.k.a. 2 Plug Shawty, was born in Harlem during the time when pimps, '80s era hustlers, and number runners ruled the streets of New York City. As a teen, Eldorado Red was a bit too much for his family to handle, so he was sent to live with his grandmother in Alabama. During his time there, the dirty south genre of music burst onto the scene and Eldorado Red quickly caught on to the style. He became the only member of his crew with the lyrical ability of an East Coast emcee, blended and delivered with a down-south Influence. He later spent some time in the Bay Area, where he linked up with producer Rick Rock, who was working with Federation at the time.
