GreenHitz.com
THE REBELLION The underground buzz has been talking about a rock group, The Rebellion, taking center stage and there is no holding back. “B.G” (vocals), Eugenuis (vocals), Angelikenisis (vocals), J-Sin (drums), Abzent Minded(guitar), Byron(guitar), B-Dogg (bass), and DJ Ceez are the hot new artists that make up The Rebellion who have signed with RockHop Records. B-Dogg, Abzent, and Byron are natives to Southern California, Eugenuis and Angelikenesis come from Atlanta, and “B.G.”, J-Sin and DJ Ceez are from Florida. These men come from humble beginnings—things weren’t handed to them. Their debut album for “The Gate 11:11” will be released in 2010—with their highly anticipated singles being simultaneously released, “Grown and Sexy” (a more urban vibe) and “Kingdom of the Light” (more rock influenced). Growing up they knew that if they wanted to live out their dreams, with the right determination and charisma, they would learn integrity, and knowledge of the world. Signed to RockHop Records, the band had an opportunity to write and play the music they love and are passionate about—fusing both rock and hip-hop into one. Established in 2006 by band member “B.G.” in Orlando, Florida, he teamed up with and DJ Ceez to add to his staff. Two years later, RockHop Records relocated to southern California, where The Rebellion was signed. Unlike typical teenage boys, they enjoyed practicing magic and rituals, but knew that they belonged in music—all coming from highly influenced, musically trained backgrounds. While the others were self-taught, J-Sin was educated and received his bachelors from the University of Florida, and “B.G.” and DJ Ceez received an associates degrees in the recording arts from Full Sail University in Florida. Angelikenisis worked for Def Jam South, the highly acclaimed record label, for three years and has collaborated with such artists as Scarface. He moved on to work for Evander Holyfield’s record label, Real Deal Records, where he reunited with fellow band member Eugenuis. Their passion exudes as they write, produce, engineer and mix their own music. They possess skills and talents in a majority of musical arenas which sets them a part from many bands out there today. Their inspiration comes from life in general—whatever is happening in the world, whether it’s pain or love. The “creator” to them has influence over their music. They have not let this fame get to them, like many in the industry they still look up to those who have changed music in all aspects of the word. From RUN-DMC, The Beatles, to Prince they hope to model their success to those who have shaped the industry as it is today. The title of their debut album, “The Gate 11:11”, holds significant meaning, because 11:11 is when we are all one. The numbers in it are symbolic. Everyday at that time everyone is suppose to or remind themselves we are all one—to express to those around them love at that moment in time,” band member Angelikenesis said. The release of two debut singles simultaneously, “Grown and Sexy” and “Kingdom of the Light”, represents what they are all about in terms of their music being a fusion of both rock and hip-hop. Their debut albums consists of songs that are highly influenced by both genres, but the concept of the simultaneous release will help them capture both audiences, and slowly fuse them to their “Rockhop” music. Their music personifies the magical experience, what the band likes to refer to as “magick musik,” which is a feeling one gets from the music and lyrics they are listening to. It carries this magical essence that captures their intrigue and slowly creates this strong hypnotic effect. From humble beginnings to signing with a record label, the feeling couldn’t be expressed in words. They now have the opportunity to share their music with the world, and with a label that encourages their unique sound and stands behind them with their decisions there is a no holds bar to what their music will do for them and for those they want to share it with. The Rebellion don’t like to compare themselves with other musicians out there and feel that their music and sound will set them apart from anything out there right now.
