His debut single “Booty Dum Dum,” unveiled his talent for creating captivating and addictive club bangers that display his animated personality. ShowTime’s artistic abilities emerged during his seventh grade music class. After realizing that being “vertically-challenged” would not permit him to pursue his first love of basketball, he committed himself to making music. For ShowTime, writing and performing would now take precedence. Drawing from the inspirations of Tupac, Biggie and Jay-Z, ShowTime began using music as a vehicle to showcase his unique style and lyrical skills. He quickly realized that the key to his success would be creating witty, memorable hooks to connect with people of all ages. ShowTime’s first break came when former WPWX - FM (Power 92) personality Chi Blizz, recognized his talent and drive. He introduced ShowTime to a local Chicago producer. Together, they combined ShowTime’s writing skills and lyrical expertise to create the hit single, “Booty Dum Dum.” When Chicago’s renowned DJ Timbuck2 heard the single, he immediately began promoting the single and put it into rotation on his weekly show on WGCI (107.5). Within weeks the song was picked up by other DJ’s, became an instant favorite and has since generated more than 12 million MySpace plays, thousands of YouTube views and radio play on three of Chicago’s top radio stations. The enormous buzz around ShowTime grabbed the attention of music industry veteran Shorty Capone, who is responsible for discovering acts like Chicago’s Crucial Conflict, Lupe Fiasco, Dude N Nem, and many others. Shortly after meeting with ShowTime, Capone quickly signed him to LakeShore Entertainment Group and began working on his music project. With the success of “Booty Dum Dum” and the overwhelming excitement and demand for his second single, “Touchdown Dance,” ShowTime is ready to become Chicago’s next great hip-hop star. When not in the classroom, ShowTime is in the studio working on his yet-tobe- titled debut album.
