Rhomanife biography From the deepest heart of Libertà area in Bari, Rhomanife is a reality of music and hope since 1985. Gianni Somma and Pino Di Taranto, founders of the reggae band, go through over three decades of City’s underground, changing skin on a journey that, from the old rock, it led them to the jamaican reggae rythms and, from the chief town of Apulia, all round Italy and beyond. Leaving from the reggae culture’s biblical recall, the Rhomanife spread in pure music his own certain faith’s message, far from the traditional religious institution and near to all human beings who believe in the values of love and peace.Here, there’s not only a musical band or a disk but a cultural project made by hundreds of events organized during the years, free open dancehall known for their music quality with a political price and their public’s extreme heterogeneity. There is on own organization of concerts with many guests from all around the world united with the disks production. There is a sound system. There is a collective made by musiciens, singers or simple music lovers: in short, a family crew. A laboratory in continuous progression. A people group, friends, who for many years share bread and convinctions, extremely supportive within them and always open to outside. They are connected to the sound system’s network and to all the apulian and italian bands that rage in the Peninsula.It’s reggae from the South, in italian and in english, that tells with human and musical experience, a precise life path. They are song’s verse like prayers, declaimed with boldness and honesty, that call upon the unity of mankind, hoping in a messianic future of peoples redemption, indicating a time of great changements now at the door.When you go to visit the band at his studio, you understand that they are not only words. You understand you are in a place where anyone is welcome, nobody is a stranger and to all it will be granted the gift of love, of listening and brotherhood. It’s the universal right to the live reggae music! The Rhomanife translate in music the words of the Bible, prayer and hymn to the same time that pull you up in a large dimension of truth. The Rhomanife, an ever indipendent band, has produced 4 cd, many videoclips and a tour that had been never stopped since from the beginning with more than 2.500 events, concerts realized in Italy and abroad. The band has performed even in: Spagna, Malta, Ungheria, Albania, with 2 tours in Czech Republic and Switzerland. Currently the band is formed by: Gianni Somma (guitar and voice), Pino Rhomanife (bass), Filomena De Leo (voice), Antonella La Casella (voice), Nicola Boccuzzi (guitar), Cosimo Lagioia (keyboard), Franesco Bartoli (drum).
