I use the Pioneer DJM 400 2 channel mixer ($600) with 2 Numark turntables ($300 ea.) and Serato ($539). Virtual DJ is pretty cool, so you really don't need to get Serato right now. You can also get the Numark DXM-06 mixer for about $200 to $250, although it doesn't have as many features as the Pioneer. Also for your more expensive equipment, check out American Musical Supply online. They let you pay in 3 - 5 payments by billing your credit card each month.
