  1. Download Now! In an era saturated with upstart MCs all vying for the coveted status of “next big thing”, the story of 24-year old North Carolina native J. Cole (born Jermaine Cole) is a refreshing exception to the quick route for fame and success. The first artist signed to Jay-Z’s new Roc Nation label, Cole made himself notable through a scholarly approach to the game – no small feat considering his Magna Cum Laude distinction upon graduating from St. John’s University. If his sudden christening by JAY-Z shocked the haters, their doubts were quickly refuted when J. Cole dropped his recent mixtape The Warm Up, as well as a coveted guest verse on JAY-Z’s Blueprint 3 with “A Star is Born”. Soulful and strong, J. Cole’s lyrics touch on everything from his upbringing in North Carolina to the poverty and hopelessness that affect his community. The mixtape encapsulates not just who J. Cole is as a rapper, but who he is as an artist and a person.Taking from his favorite artists a love for powerful storytelling with an intense inner-strength, J. Cole advanced to writing his own lyrics at 15, soon amassing stacks of notebooks filled with rhymes and observations. Without a DJ or producer to provide a beat, he industriously started creating his own using a beat machine given as a present by his mother. From then on J. Cole was constantly creating new music and lyrics leading to his current and flow. 5. The root to Natasha Mosley's vocals stem deep within her family tree. The lineage goes as far back to the 1920-1930s when legendary blues singer Bessie Smith, who was her great grandmother's cousin, used to rock the mic as one of music's most influential figures. Now, Mosley looks to make the same mark in R&B. The 20-year-old songstress from Atlanta is the ‘round-the-way girl’ who started her singing career at the early age of 2. Never once did Mosley imagine all those countless hours studying Smith's career, or singing for hours on end, would later lead to being discovered by Atlanta businessman Isom Lowman, who signed Mosley to his label, ISO MUSIC. Mosley’s likability transcended across the city, captivating audiences with a powerful and sweet voice through numerous competitions including the Apollo in Atlanta, American Idol auditions and a talent search held by Grammy-winning singer Ne-Yo. She’s gained approval from the masses, dubbing her vocal range similar to Mariah with a cute-as-a-button resemblance of a youthful Lil’ Kim. But the whole package of Mosley’s talents has drawn even more comparison to the late singer Aaliyah. "Everybody wanted to be like Mary J, Brandy and Beyoncé," she says. "I want to be like them. I want to be known as the person who has the feel- good music, something they can bounce to. At the same time, I want people to be inspired through my music to get over the day’s humps. I want them to learn from my struggle and appreciate me for being me." Through a mutual friend at a birthday party, Mosley met Lazar Gray who eventually introduced her to producer/songwriter Tra Beats - a talent that is also signed to Iso Music Group. The two ultimately built a strong rapport between each other, as the two produced promising songs such as her new single, “Pretty” featuring Gucci Mane. In all, Mosley wants to be the positive light in people’s lives. “I just want people to feel good,” she says. “All my favorite artists made me feel really good about myself growing up. I want to be the one who brings that same great feeling to their hearts.” Follow @NatashaMosley on twitter! http://www.youtube.com/NatashaMosley http://www.facebook.com/pages/Natasha-Mosley/136544096419918 http://www.natashamosley.com/ Download Natasha Mosley Ft. 8. Jaywheelz began making hip-hop music when he was 13. He had nothing but a tape recorder and a dream. Inspired by his mother, Michelle D. Williams, who passed away when he was 12 years of age. Jawheelz started by writing songs to popular instrumentals. He wanted to be a rap star, but from making music in the basement of his grandmother’s house, it seemed like just a dream, far out of his reach. Going into his junior year of high school, he released his first mix-tape, KingJay “The God of Rain.” Some people laughed at his attempt at music – but those that respected Jason Williams kept him going. He sold more than 200 copies to fellow high school students and soon KingJay was considered a new, up and coming artist. With his smooth delivery and unique style the Kingjay buzz started to expand from McKeesport to Pittsburgh. As the years went on, Jason Williams became one of the best athletes in the country and was forced to put music on hold. Jason earned over 100 full athletic scholarships to major Colleges like Pitt, Cincy, UConn, VT, Vandy, Syracuse, Rutgers, and many more. His chance of getting out the "Ghetto" was accepted, and Jason turned to Football. Jason Williams soon became a top NFL prospect for his speed and athleticism. After an unexpected downfall his senior year at UConn, Jason never recovered, and struggled in the NFL, AFL, and turned back to his first love, music. KingJay became known as Jaywheelz, a name he received from ESPN, after having ESPN's top ten plays in College Football. Thanks to Pyramid Recording Studio in Avoca, Jaywheelz collaborated with known Wilkesbarre singer, Tracy, and made his first hit single in 2008, titled “U Gotta Have Dreams.” The song earned Jaywheelz a concert contract with Big Time Entertainment (BTE), and he never looked back. The more JayWheelz wrote, the better he became. JayWheelz got connected through some friends and started recording in the BatCave studio with artists like Meek Mill, Gillie Da Kid, Elliott Ness, Bow Wow and more. Recording and releasing his debut mixtape"Straight Barz 2" on Datpiff.com. Jason Williams nearly gave up his lifelong dream to be a hip-hop artist, to pursue a professional football career. Now, he will embrace the opportunity to follow his real dream, to make music, and make dreams come true for his family, friends, and true fans of real hip-hop. JayWheelz has a style that reminds you of J.Cole and a delivery that screams Drake, thought process comparable to Lil Wayne, and willing to be inspirational as Common. JayWheelz loves to change lives through music and thats what he plans to do. "Music is life, without music, people might not live".....JayWheelz. Follow @_JayWheelz on twitter! 10. Download Now! Possessing a keenness that belied his age, Pittsburgh, PA, rap lyricist Wiz Khalifa came to be a rising star over the course of the late 2000s based on his young bravado and hardcore yet charismatic execution of rhymes. Consciously building up his city's hip-hop reputation, he sought out to create a sound that was uniquely Pittsburgh, relying on his East Coast (Jay-Z, Wu-Tang Clan), Southern (Three 6 Mafia), and other (Bone Thugs-N-Harmony) hip-hop influences. A military brat, Khalifa, whose real name is Cameron Thomaz, was born in 1987 in Minot, ND. After his parents divorced when he was about age three, he lived in various places and military bases around the world before settling in Pittsburgh. He was constantly writing during that time and soaked up a great deal of knowledge from his globetrotting experiences. His first attempt at committing lyrics to paper happened around age nine, and at 12 he was already recording and producing his own records in his father's Oklahoma studio. As soon as he returned to Pittsburgh, Khalifa laid down the groundwork to begin a solo career and kept busy recording music in a local studio, called I.D. Labs, in the Lawrenceville neighborhood of the city. Khalifa stood out among the studio's regulars, prompting the I.D. Labs staff to offer him free beats and recording time, plus bringing him to the attention of Benjy Grinberg, a former executive assistant to L.A. Reid at Arista Records who had started up a new independent label, Rostrum Records. Signed to Rostrum, Khalifa built a buzz in Pittsburgh with a few singles, but he began to draw eyes and ears nationally during his senior year in high school with his first mixtape, Prince of the City: Welcome to Pistolvania, in early 2006. And with the release of his independent full-length debut, Show and Prove, later that year, major publications, including Vibe, XXL, and Rolling Stone, featured profiles on the young rapper, projecting him to be the leading voice of Pittsburgh hip-hop. A regular staple on Pittsburgh radio, Khalifa was definitely living up to that prediction, going on to sell tens of thousands of mixtapes, not to mention tens of thousands of Show and Prove copies around the country. It was only a matter of time before the major labels came looking for the stand-out Pittsburgh rapper. In summer 2007, Khalifa and Rostrum hopped on board with Warner and cut his first major-label single, "Young'n on His Grind." Follow @RealWizKhalifa on twitter!
