As a teenager, he began rapping for friends and performing at local talent shows around his area. Shortly after, Lil Ganggsta was encouraged to join a rap group called Infa-Red. At the age of 17 he eventually parted ways from the group due to problems. He finally realized it was time to pursue a solo career. By the age of 18, he decided to drop out of high school and turn to the streets. Lil Ganggsta was sentenced to jail due to illegal activites. While in jail he knew he had a gift, he had to turn a negative into a positive. After he was release from jail, he began to take music more seriously with the influences and inspirations of artists such as tupac, the old no limit records, the old cash money records and Lil Boosie. Lil Ganggsta received word from the streets 'he is the hottest rapper in the city' after dropping a few street mixtapes, promoting and opening up for national acts throughout Louisiana and parts of Mississippi.
