Freedom father of two, was born December 4, 1984 in the small town of Danville, Illinois. "Da'Ville" as he calls it, is a town of little success and no opportunity. With it being one of Illinois smallest towns, you would expect it to be like pleasantville. Its drug and crime infested streets, makes it hard for a young African American whose life hasn't been so perfect, that much harder. Despite its drugs, crimes, and having a very low rate of opportunity for success, “Free” developed an ear for music at an early age. Writing his first verse at the age of 8 with cousin and fellow artist/producer “Villa” (who at the time was 10). Leaving his hometown of Danville, Illinois in 1995, Freedoms' mother moved them to Indianapolis, Indiana. There she figured, " A better chance and a better life," but that's when all the struggles of life really started to take effect for then young talented artist. With him being the new kid in the neighborhood, Free quickly established a name for himself. To make a long story short, Freedoms’ music comes from life’s struggles throughout his life. Throughout the year “Freedom a.k.a. Free” has never lost his passion for music. He is 1/3 of the group “Double ii(Illinois/Indiana)” which consist of two former childhood friends and fellow artist “Jam P(who recently opend up for Freeway) and D-Trane”. He lists Field Mob, Joe Budden, Jadakiss, Styles P, Talib Kwali, and Big Krit as his current musical inspirations. The soon to be 26 year old rapper is currently working on his first official mixtape "Freedom Of Speech”, hosted by your Dj’s favorite Dj, “DJ Dirty Yella”. Should be ready for a late fall/early winter release, independently. He and fellow group members “D-Trane and Jam P” recently have done some tracks for their former high school football team “Pike High School” out of Indianapolis, Indiana. The tracks are played at every home game during worm ups and halftime. The tracks were also placed on the Pike High School Football mixtape Hosted by “B.Swift of Hot 96.3”. Freedom also has a track titled “I Do This feat. Daddy Blue of EastEnd Muzik Group and produced by Twan”, going on Violator All Star Dj’s “Dj Supa” newest mixtape “ The McChronicles”. The mixtape is due for late December-early January release under USentertainment( entertainment). The talented Mid-Western rapper is affiliated with Johosophat Productions which is based out of Indianapolis, In. Their production team consist of J.French (CEO/Songwriter/Producer/Media Composer, also the man behind Waka Flocka’s underground smash hit “Rumors” and a lot of Indianapolis’ up and coming stars. Munki Boi Ent., r&b sensation Ryan McDaniel and Mike E of GigFam), the team also includes Brent Ash (Manager/Mid-western Region), Roy Bradley (Assistant, South region), and Valarie Banister (Public Relations), Kalen “K.I.” Springfield(songwriter, who has worked with Ruff Ryder, Heather B, and some other things with Interscope), and Luke Likens (Engineer, has done work for multiple artist such as “Kanye West” track “Workout Plan” of f of “College Dropout”. Freedom is also affiliated with Frequency International’s Chad Wells (Producer) who has produced “Butta feat. Kid Rock- Take me to the money” and has also toured and produced with Dj Motiv8 from Black Eyed Peas in 2006. The Double ii affiliate is currently unsigned and working on getting management. Till then, the he plans on doing exactly what he’s been doing grinding it out with no help. Expect to hear the name "Freedom and Double ii" in your ears and stereos real soon. With all that being said if your looking for raw, 100% realness, no fabricated lyrics, creativity and good muzic. Then Freedom aka Free is your man.
