Tom Peters grew up in Decatur GA. He was influenced by rap at an early age and began writing his own lyrics at the age of 11. What was seen as an impossible dream by his minister father and perhaps the general public became some what of a reality when Tom Peters independently distributed his first EP in high school and had his first sold out show. This was the first sign of Tom P's "proving himself" against the odds characteristic that would become a staple of his struggle and lyrics in the coming years. Over 500 kids from the Atlanta area came out to support the young aspiring rapper. In the years following high school Tom Peters honed his rhymes and developed the rapid fire delivery he has become known for. He began throwing and promoting his own events in his early 20's, selling out many of Atlanta's premier venues and finally gaining the notoriety he deserved when he brought out over 1,000 fans to a ware house show he threw off Krog Street (where acts like B.O.B and Yelawolf opened for him.) He followed up with the release of "Root for the Underdog." The album release party for the album sold out the Quad on Spring Street in Atlanta which holds over 1,000 people as well. The word of Tom Peters's energetic shows, lyricism, and sprawling fan base spread quick and attracted the attention of many artists in the industry. He has since performed with and developed relationships with Three 6 Mafia, B.O.B, Nappy Roots, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Yelawolf, Pill, Cyhi The Prynce, Rehab, Rittz, Trinidad James, Gorilla Zoe, Killer Mike, many of the well-known up and comers in the game and toured the south east last year with TechN9NE and Machine Gun Kelly. He has now headlined over 100 shows and performed at nearly 150 others mostly in GA but spanning as far as Canada. He has performed in front of over 6,000 people on several occasions and headlined some of the biggest shows Atlanta has to offer. He headlined Wild Bills (largest club in USA) opened for Raekwon at the A3C, performed at the Fox Theater, along with several large music festivals. Creative Loafing recently called him "The Best Overall Act in Atlanta" for 2012 (The first hip hop artist to win this award since T.I. in 2006) His new album "The Preachers Kid" is ready for release in Octorber 2013, which features Rittz, Jarren Benton, Gripplyaz, Playboy Tre, Cutty Cartel, and more, with production from Trinidad James’ producer Justin Padron and #1 Billboard hit producer J. Pitt. With his ever growing fan base in the streets and on-line, it is expected to do well and is one of the most highly anticipated albums of the year in the Atlanta underground scene.
