My name is Getu Hirpo, also known as Gates. I am an Independent Recording Artist based in the UK. I am an intelligent, talented, versatile and creative musician: a singer, songwriter, producer and performer.

I studied contemporary (popular music) at London Southwark College and have a BTEC National Diploma in popular music. I am also a digital entrepreneur.

I am originally from Ethiopia (East Africa), have been residing in the UK since 1990. I performed Ethiopian music live as a lead singer for four years in London with an Ethiopian group called Yared before I had gone to college to diversify my talent. My Performance with Yared Band as well as in the music college has been highly acclaimed.
