  1. Nah...scroll up and peep my comment earlier. GoldNKiD
  2. Disclaimer: No offense to the artist, his supporters, or his grind. Simply put: garbage like this early in your career may kill it. No disrespect; mad respect for getting up, getting out, and doing something...but if that something is falling on your face I'd try and stop you. That's why people employ managers, agents, et cetera because one man holding a mic is still *one* man. Ask Nas why he wrote One Mic. GoldNKiD
  3. My balls are feeling pretty big before a gig and a slammin night producin: this track/artist needs...wait for it....A PRODUCER. Not a BEATMAKER (and a poor one at that; a cheap MP3 pool or SC would have saved him some money on free instrumentals and DJs/bloggers/ promote GOOD ish for free*), not an emcee or lyricist as ghostwriters since the kid HAS potential, but someone who can take crap lyrics and with many retakes, drops, adlibs, effects, and a whole lotta smackin' the back or the artist's head for wasting his/her time. ish...I forgot that ALL should have been handled with GRINDING or PAYING FOR MANAGEMENT. Hella fine talent wastin away making bullshit tracks talkin' bout demoralizing women. When Luke Skywalker (then Luke, now Uncle Luke to you youngstas) released "Banned In the USA," I FLEW to Amsterdam (from the UK) to pick up a copy since I couldn't get the unedited version...but what was House Party music for us is porno on wax for this generation. At least Luke said FUCK YOU to the system and made a difference beyond the tip of his dollar bill at the strip club. ***FREE ADVICE*** If you're an artist focus on your craft. GET A GOOD *BEAT*; don't produce in your boy's bedroom...we can hear it! Write some meaningful lyrics and SAY SOMETHING...we all thug out but EVERY track by Tupac told a story (wow that's missing these days). You can get away with saying anything if it's told in a story. Look to Slick Rick, Eazy E, Geto Boyz...ghetto as hell but ALL crossovers and LEGACIES. If you write and perform garbage that isn't going to make $ but get you ass; that choice God gave you free will to make. With a good producer your inabilities become part of your swagger, they won't have their time wasted, and will tell you if your shit is wack. Ask me if you need help getting HELP. Assuming you have a BANGING album can you get it past your circles into the hands of someone who will look out for you GET A GOOD MANAGER. GET A GOOD BOOKING AGENT. GET A GOOD PROMOTER. Otherwise everybody is wasting their time. Go out on the block and sell some peanuts or soap flakes and see how long you last. Look at your competition; don't laugh at them. Study them so you can do what they don't; ask for what you need to be successful. Be aware of people hawking you...and promising ish. The only promises I make to my clients (I'm US Director for Diamond Life Records, UK LTD. founded by Sade's founder and former drummer) are these: STFU and listen to those who HAVE made it, help is like GREAT sex (get it when and where you can cause you don't know if or when you'll have another opportunity). Last piece of advice: Don't let me or anyone else tell you no. If this game, and the music and biz that run it, are your ticket out...don't piss off the guy selling tickets. Look me up: I say all this for the benefit of the group and music industry as a whole. This game is in free-fall and how we play it will determine if we go back to the dark ages where bards sang for alcohol; we seem to be on that track already. For those wanting more advice Google me (I'm the guy on IMDB.com - not the Traffic Engineer [my cousin]) or start at www.myspace.com/djgoldnkid and email me at dj.da.goldnkid@gmail.com with [GREENHITZ ADVICE NEEDED] in the subject line. I'm out to show these MP3 DJ's what life was like *before* you had a button to do the effects that make DJ's fun to watch. I need to write a book. LOL =) Be safe. Be happy. Just be. GoldNKiD
  4. I thought it was lacking something too: lyricism, motivation, party/club appeal...maybe I need to listen to more tracks by them? Not my thing. =) GoldNKiD
