  1. Big Dawg Oatie Some of us are lucky enough to understand at a young age what we want to do, how we plan on making money and ultimately what drives us. Big Dawg Oatie falls into this category with an apparent and need to perform and record. Long before anyone heard a bar from the Decatur/Cobb native, he used other means to fulfill this inherent need. His early appreciation of music and entertainment was heavily influenced pop culture and his environment. This may have had something to do with Big Dawg Oatie’s early interest in the ladies, or maybe it was simply inherited. 80s and 90s R&B are the backbone for his love for music. Growing up the streets helped develop his swag and ambitious ways. Maybe it was the tempo of the beat or his ability create a sound that applied to him, Big Dawg Oatie is charismatic artist who likes to play on words. He feels very passionate about his craft and always looks to engage the audience. His audience is what drives his ability to perform and produce great music. It wasn’t until 2003 that the artist put this craft to the ultimate test and began recording performing. Recording in local low-budget studios around the metro Atlanta and filling up shoe boxes with raps that depict his life story took a great majority of his time. Eventually, he knew he had to capture the attention of a larger crowd, that's when he linked up with Big Face Paper Gang and started to take his lyrical abilities to the next level. From trapping, getting robbed and shot at, going to jail and college these series of events have defined Big Dawg Oatie’s style. His choice of lyrics come from the harsh realities of life and have made way for his philosophies on the mic. His style represents a collaboration of some of the greatest in the game, giving respected credit and recognition to T.I. for paving the way from the streets, Big Boi for funky beats and 808s, Biggie for an explicitly expressed love of the ladies and Mase for his word play and silly style. Simply put, “I wanna be big.” The self-proclaimed “fan’s artist” has less interest in extravagant lifestyles and record labels, and instead focuses on his passion of performance. Booking shows, filling seats and blowing your mind is on the agenda. Sit back and enjoy the development of a household name
