Thirteenth Step are an American rock duo formed in Campbellsburg, Kentucky, in 2006. The group consists of Nicholas King (guitars, pedal steel guitar, vocals) and Michael King (drums, percussion, synthesizer, vocals). The duo began as an independent act, recording music in basements and self-producing their records, before they eventually emerged as one of the most popular garage rock artists during a second wave of the genre's revival in the 2010s. The band's raw Post-grunge sound draws heavily from King's alt-rock influences, including Alice in Chains, Rage Against the Machine, and Creed.
