CB - She Like Me CB - She Like Me PRODUCED BY VYBE BEATZ Kansas City, MO: September 10, 2009 More than likely, when you think of Kansas City the first thing thats going to come to mind is the Wizard of Oz. But for the 19 year old Kansas City, Missouri rapper CB, that's the last thing on his mind. If CB isn't at the UMKC campus, (where he majors in Pre-Business with an emphasis in marketing) he's busy establishing his buzz and branding his name. After the mild local sucess of his own produced record Doin My Thang, CB only got hungrier. "People started asking for beats all the time and I'm like yeah i got beats but what do you think about the song? People didn't even know it was me rapping on the song". CB eventually linked up with local veteran Dun Deala bka The Popper ,who had just launched his KC Landmarks movement and placed Doin My Thang on volume two of his KC Landmarks project. The myspace messages started to roll in. Local DJ's began requesting the song and it became a party favorite. "But that was 08, I got all new music ready!" With praises from the Core-DJ's own DJ Fresh and three mixtapes under his belt, (2008's Guap Season Vol. 1 & 2 and Jan. 2009's Heat On Beats) CB is gearing up for the release of his fourth mixtape Bookbag Swag. "The best marketer for you when you don't have a major label backing you is yourself. You can't just put out a project and expect to get a deal or even radio spins. You gotta go out here and make it happen for yourself", he says. CB plans on making this project available for free download online and plans on hitting the road and passing out as many as he can, hoping that it lands in the hands of the right people. "I'm not rapping about guns and drugs and killing people because thats all I would see and hear about in my neighborhood and I wonna get as far away from that as I can.
