  1. homie will get spins @all my shows
  2. I thought this thread was dead. But anyway, That's for real. If a club manger/owner go with cheapest products he/she doesn't know what they are doing. A dj's job is to get the crowd hype, make them dance, so they get hot and eventually buy drinks to try and cool off. If a rookie clomanager doesn't know this it won't be long before his doors are shutting. great job! dj reign!
  3. D-J's sometimes lie about what they get paid to make people think different things either they getting rich or somebody got over on them. Tell me where there is 20k gate, The Mafia and myself would fly in every weekend and take over.
  4. I unsubscribed to this thread but they keep coming. But anyway like you, i've been at it since, since middle school and I'm 44. It maybe that these youngsters today want everything now "instant gratification" without realizing how much hard work goes into being good at not only D-Jing but being good at anything. It takes works. I guess I'm stuck in this thread. So I'll keep posting.
  5. I went into a bar and restaurant a couple of weeks ago when I was on vacation in Albany Ga and they had an internet jukebox. When the Blacks came it was instantly hip-hop night. When the Blacks left it became country western night. How are we to compete with that?
  6. An experienced D-j promote their own shows. All a promoter does is rent the club, advertise, buy some liability insurance, provide some security if necessary, collect money at the gate and pay your broke ass. You can handle all that yourself and that gate at the end of the night is yours. If anyone needs any help let me know.
  7. Always ask for more than you need, for when times get lean you'll have that.
  8. Hungry is Hungry ! I believe there is really no such thing as undercutting in the business. It's just that some beginners do not have the business skills that a more experience DJ has. Max Dj pay is about $125 per hr. those are your 700 plus dollar a night DJs, wedding Djs,reunions and other special events. At the clubs the Dj's job is to get people hot by keeping them dancing and then they will buy drinks to try and cool off. Club owners/manager and promoters will try and B,S you all the time. If you do not like what they offer you, what you should do in promote yourself. Rent the venue, pay security, run your ads,put out flyers and put your girl/wife on the gate and have her take it when she leaves. That's your money True Sermon Dj Mark Money, 30 years in.
  9. i always like something like this at the end of a show
