Born and bred on Chicago's South Side, pop-R&B singer and songwriter Jeremih taught himself how to play several instruments and didn't consider himself a vocalist until a warmly received talent show performance. At Chicago's Columbia College, he struck up a partnership with fledgling producer Mick Schultz, and the two closely collaborated on the material that became Jeremih's debut album. In March 2009, slow jam "Birthday Sex," the first single, debuted on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip Hop chart, eventually topped it, and even crossed into the Top Ten of the Hot 100. Thanks to that hit, Jeremih, released that June with production handled entirely by Schultz, debuted at number six on the Billboard 200. A year later, Jeremih issued his follow-up, All About You. Like the debut, it was produced by Schultz and spawned a Top Ten pop hit, though it was a club track -- "Down on Me" -- featuring 50 Cent. Five years passed prior to the release of Jeremih's third album. The protracted gap between full-lengths entailed numerous delays, a period during which the singer distanced himself from his earlier hits and blamed himself and his label for the slippage. The artist nonetheless hardly pulled a disappearing act, with the high-profile mixtape Late Nights with Jeremih, a Top Ten pop hit in the form of "Don't Tell 'Em" (produced by Schultz and DJ Mustard, and featuring YG), as well as appearances on numerous tracks headlined by other artists, most notably DJ Khaled's "Hold You Down." One of the most successful pop-R&B artists of the late 20th century and the early 21st century, Usher debuted during the mid-'90s as a fresh-faced teenager. As part of the thriving LaFace label roster, he made an instant impact in R&B's post-new jack swing era. He successfully rode mainstream songwriting and production trends across three decades and peaked artistically and commercially during the mid-2000s, when his landmark fourth album, Confessions, outshone all of its competitors. It generated four straight number one pop hits and joined the ranks of Thriller, Whitney Houston, and CrazySexyCool by achieving diamond platinum status -- over ten million copies sold in the U.S. More than anyone else, as a singer, songwriter, producer, dancer, and all-around entertainer, Usher was the successor to Michael Jackson. Born Usher Terry Raymond IV in Dallas, Texas, Usher spent much of his childhood in Chattanooga, Tennessee and eventually moved to Atlanta, Georgia for the sake of his budding music career. After a LaFace A&R representative spotted him on Star Search, his career took off. The 14-year-old auditioned for LaFace co-founder L.A. Reid, who signed the gospel choir boy to a recording contract. In 1994, Usher released his debut album of the same name, which featured co-executive producer Sean "Puffy" Combs. The first single, "Think of You," gained Usher wide recognition and reached gold status. From that initial exposure, Usher was approached to do other projects. In 1995, he recorded a national holiday jingle for Coca-Cola. He also joined several top male R&B vocalists to form Black Men United for the single "You Will Know," featured on the Jason's Lyric soundtrack. He also teamed with teen singing sensation Monica for a remake of Latimore's "Let's Straighten It Out." After graduating from high school, Usher released his sophomore album, My Way, in 1997. In an attempt to display his maturity and songwriting abilities, he co-wrote six of the nine songs and enlisted the help of producers Jermaine Dupri, Babyface, and, again, Combs. The album's first single, "You Make Me Wanna," reestablished Usher as one of R&B's hottest artists, and also made him a crossover sensation. It topped Billboard's R&B chart for 11 weeks, hit number two on the Hot 100, and eventually went double platinum. Both of the follow-up singles, "Nice & Slow" and "My Way," also went platinum; the former stayed at number one on the R&B chart for eight weeks and became his first number one pop single. In the meantime, Usher launched an acting career, appearing in the 1998 horror spoof The Faculty and the 1999 urban high-school drama Light It Up. To tide fans over until his next studio release, Usher issued a concert recording titled simply Live in 1999. He returned on the Arista label with his third proper album, 8701, in 2001, and progressed from a teen pop star to a sultry R&B singer. Three years later, Arista released the single "Yeah!" Produced by Lil Jon and guesting Ludacris, the addictive, lightly crunk cut fast became a club favorite, and then it went global -- a number one pop hit in the U.S., the U.K., Germany, and several other territories. Confessions, the parent album, was Usher's most mature and diverse work. It won a Grammy for Best Contemporary R&B Album, while "Yeah!" took home the award for Best Rapped/Sung Collaboration. He starred in 2005's In the Mix and returned in 2008 with Here I Stand, an album that topped the Billboard 200 and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts but inevitably failed to do as well as what preceded it. Raymond v Raymond, inspired in part by the end of Usher's marriage, was released in 2010 as three of its songs were climbing the charts. Its buzz single, "Papers," had already topped the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles chart. An EP titled Versus followed later in the year. Led by another Hot R&B/Hip-Hop chart-topper, "Climax" (co-produced by Diplo), Looking 4 Myself was issued in 2012, driven by the Top Ten single "Scream," and it became Usher's fourth number one album. A year later, he began a stint as a coach for the NBC talent show The Voice. “People have been clinging to my music so much over the years because I can really spit,” explains Yo Gutta. “I switch up my styles. There’s no telling how I come off when I jump on a track. I might rap fast. I might rap slow or I just my flip my words at a mile a minute. They never know what to expect.”
Born Mario Lewis in the sleepy town of Mansura, La., Gutta’s on-stage moniker is much like a description of his humble upbringing. “I’m a country boy. I’m straight from the country,” Gutta admits. “I like to hunt and fish in the swamps and eating wildlife. That’s how I come up.”
Raised in the small town’s grimy Mistier Manor Projects, young Mario grew up the oldest of four children. His mother worked her fingers to the bone at two jobs to ensure the kids had clothes on their backs and a roof over their heads. Because his momma dukes spent most of her time at work, young Mario was responsible for watching over his three little sisters while his mother earned money for bread and meat.
“When I was living there, it was rugged,” he remembers. “It was the place everybody wanted to be because it was jumping. Like Lil Boosie said in one song, ‘we thuggin outside. We don’t need cable.’ Something was always popping outside. We just had fun and lived life. Staying down there was probably the most fun days of my life.”
It was during these years growing up in the projects would Gutta be introduced to rapping. On any given day, a group of young kids would be huddled up in a circle freestyle rapping and Gutta was always in the middle of it.
He didn’t take his craft seriously until at age 16, an older cousin from Dallas asked Gutta to spit a verse on a song with him. The cousin invited him to the studio, they cut the track and Gutta hasn’t looked back since.
“Everybody was crunk about the verse I put down,” he recalls. “They couldn’t believe it was me because I had such a good sound from the very first time I went into the studio.”
Although it was the first time that Gutta went into the studio, it was far from the last. Shortly after relocating to Tyler, Texas, he dropped his well-received debut mixtape On The Rise in 2004 and created a huge buzz between his native Louisiana and East Texas. With trunk-rattling singles like “Swangin’ Nothing But Big Bodies” and “Youngsters on the Rise,” Gutta quickly became a regional superstar.
He came right back a year later with his sophomore mixtape So Gutta in 2005 and gained even more respect with the mixtape’s title track featuring veteran Houston rapper Bam from pioneering group Street Military. Then over the years, he came back to back to back with a plethora of mixtapes and singles.
And now, he is preparing his own takeover with the release of his eighth mixtape Low Key due in August. On the strength of lead single “In It to Win It” featuring Kevin Gates and second single “Feeling So Playa” featuring Houston trailblazer E.S.G., Yo Gutta proves that this is just the beginning of a musical movement.
“Being an underground artist is tough; it’s competitive, but it’s worth the grind,” says Gutta. “It’s worth the payoff. Every time someone hears my music or sees one of my shows, I get a new fan. I’ve come a long way in the game but this is just the beginning.”

While their rise to fame was somewhere between fast and meteoric, the Atlanta trio Migos are steeped in the Southern tradition of hip-hop groups, having come together due to their shared love of acts like the Hot Boys and OutKast. Members Offset, Quavo, and Takeoff came together in 2009 under the name Polo Club, with the name Migos becoming official in 2010. In 2012 they released the mixtape No Label, which featured the cut "Bando," a regional hit that caught the attention of producer Zaytoven and Kevin Lee aka Coach K, the manager who launched the careers of Gucci Mane and Young Jeezy. The year 2013 was a whirlwind as June saw the group drop its Young Rich N*ggas mixtape, which featured the instant hit "Versace." That same year, Coach K got them on the Hot 107.9 Birthday Bash, a popular Atlanta festival where Migos came across their newest fan, Drake. The rapper added a verse to the "Versace" remix and put the cut on his 2013 album, Nothing Was the Same. Featuring the hit single "Fight Night," 2014's No Label II was the group's next high-profile release, as it was a mixtape distributed by major-label Atlantic. Fabolous scored a bit hit, "Can't Deny It," right out of the gate in 2001, instantly establishing himself as a rising East Coast rap star, the song's combination of street-savvy toughness and pop crossover appeal representative of the rapper himself. Streetwise and hardened yet young and graced with poster-boy good looks, the Brooklyn rapper (born John Jackson on November 18, 1977) was one of the first East Coast MCs to embrace the bling mentality of the South as well as the gangsta swagger of the West Coast, all the while incorporating a subtle undercurrent of pop-rap into his music. He was among the first of a new breed of New York City rappers, later and most notably to include 50 Cent, who were able to cross over well among multiple markets without losing street credential. His youth was key, but so was his bravado, and when Fabolous could balance this persona optimally and find himself a production formula to fit, commercial success resulted. His breakthrough single, "Can't Deny It" -- a Rick Rock production featuring a 2Pac sample and a Nate Dogg feature, as well as a catchy hook -- preceded his debut album, Ghetto Fabolous (2001), and generated quite a bit of buzz. The album also featured production work by the Neptunes, but only managed one other single, "Young'n," which failed to match the success of "Can't Deny It." When Fabolous returned with his sophomore album, Street Dreams (2003), he capitalized on his initial renown, racking up three major hits: "Trade It All," "Can't Let You Go," and "Into You," with the latter two breaking into the Top Five of Billboard's Hot 100. Later in 2003, More Street Dreams, Pt. 2: The Mixtape hit stores just in time for the holiday season. Comprised of various street-level recordings originally released on mixtapes, this compilation didn't spawn any hits, but it did reaffirm Fabolous' hip-hop credentials in the wake of his string of pop crossover singles. The following year brought with it another album, Real Talk (2004), which didn't offer any major pop crossover hits ("Baby" was a minor one) yet did boast a monster Just Blaze production, "Breathe," which further shored up Fabolous' hip-hop credentials. The young rapper took most of 2005 and 2006 off, and shortly before the scheduled release of his next album, in late 2006, he made headlines when he was shot in the leg and subsequently charged with weapons possession (police found two guns in the car that transported him to the hospital). Def Jam -- which signed Fabolous after sending Musiq to Atlantic in a unique trade situation -- released From Nothin' to Somethin' (2007). The album debuted at number one on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart (number two overall) and spawned a series of singles, including the Top Ten hit "Make Me Better" featuring Ne-Yo. Two years later the hit single "Throw It in the Bag" would land on his album Loso's Way, a loose, conceptual full-length inspired by the film Carlito's Way. Timbaland ascended to the top of the pop industry in the late '90s, impressively balancing his in-demand hitmaking abilities with his outlandish production style. Few rap producers were capable of such a balance between commerce and craft. Timbaland produced an endless list of hits, primarily for a select group of affiliates (Missy Elliott, Aaliyah, Jay-Z, Ginuwine) though also for a number of other A-list artists (Ludacris, Snoop Dogg, Nas, Justin Timberlake). Even so, he always infused a remarkable sense of individuality and creativity into his productions. When you hear a Timbaland production generally there is no mistaking it for anyone else's work: stuttering bass-heavy bounce beats offset resounding high-end synth stabs, all of this often complemented by his own signature-like quiet murmuring beneath the track; and no sampling. However, over time Timbaland began taking an increasingly assembly-line approach to production, working with a team of co-producers and songwriters including Nathaniel "Danjahandz" Hills, the Clutch, and Justin Timberlake. Plus, he began producing an increasingly wide array of acts, ranging from alternative icons Björk and M.I.A. to MOR pop/rockers the Fray and Ashlee Simpson. In the late '90s, when Timbaland was still relatively new on the scene, the Virginia native worked extensively with Missy ("The Rain"), Aaliyah ("If Your Girl Only Knew"), and Ginuwine ("Pony"). Later, once he'd established himself with these three, he began working with the top rappers in the industry, namely Jay-Z ("Big Pimpin'"), Nas ("You Won't See Me Tonight"), Snoop Dogg ("Snoop Dogg [What's My Name, Pt. 2]"), and Ludacris ("Rollout [My Business]"). He also worked occasionally with lesser-known regional artists such as Petey Pablo ("Raise Up"), Pastor Troy ("Are We Cuttin'"), and Tweet ("Oops [Oh My]"). As a result of his exceptional success as a producer, Timbaland eventually established his own record label, Beat Club, and began unveiling his own stable of artists (Bubba Sparxxx, Ms. Jade). His records, most co-billed with rapping friend Magoo, spotlighted his access to the top rappers in the business: Missy Elliott, Jay-Z, Ludacris, Wyclef Jean. From 1997 through 2003, he released three Timbaland & Magoo albums, while 1998's Tim's Bio was a solo album in name. Released in 2007, Timbaland Presents Shock Value, along with its equally ambitious 2009 sequel, featured a mixture of vocalists, rappers, and rock bands. The former scored a couple major hits: "Give It to Me," featuring Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake, reached number one on the Hot 100, while "The Way I Are," with Keri Hilson and D.O.E., topped out at the third position. ~ Jason Birchmeier

Christopher Maurice "Chris" Brown (born May 5, 1989) is an American recording artist, dancer and actor. Born in Tappahannock, Virginia, he was involved in his church choir and several local talent shows from a young age. Having signed with Jive Records in 2004, Brown released his self-titled debut studio album the following year. It peaked at number two on the US Billboard 200 and was later certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). With his first single "Run It!" peaking atop the US Billboard Hot 100, Brown became the first male artist as a lead since Diddy in 1997 to have his debut single top the chart. His second album Exclusive (2007) spawned his second Hot 100 number one "Kiss Kiss", in addition to "With You" and "Forever". The album was also certified double platinum by the RIAA.
In 2009, Brown received much media attention after pleading guilty to felony assault of his then girlfriend, singer Rihanna; he was sentenced to five years of probation and six months of community service. His third album Graffiti was released later that year, and included the top-twenty single "I Can Transform Ya". Brown's fourth album F.A.M.E. (2011) became his first to top the Billboard 200; it spawned hit singles "Yeah 3x", "Look at Me Now", and "Beautiful People". F.A.M.E. earned Brown his first Grammy Award for Best R&B Album at the 54th Grammy Awards. His fifth album Fortune was released in 2012. However, after the release of Exclusive, Brown's albums have not been well received commercially or by music critics, with the exception of X, which received a normalized rating of 63. Brown's seventh studio album Royalty is set to be released on December 18, 2015.
Apart from his work in the music industry, Brown has pursued an acting career. In 2007, he made his on-screen feature film debut in Stomp the Yard, and appeared as a guest on the television series The O.C.. Other films Brown has appeared in, include This Christmas (2007), Takers (2010), Think Like a Man (2012), and Battle of the Year (2013). Throughout his career, Brown has won several awards, including two NAACP Image Awards, three American Music Awards and fourteen BET Awards.

Born to Mr. Eddy Ganja, a Ugandan music legend, Soloist and vocalist with the Afrigo band, Mc Norman real names Mutebi Ronald, at the age of 12 started off his music career in Afrigo band working with Joanita Kawalya and Peterson Mutebi way back in 1987. He later joined mm disco sound, Missouri night club and worked with guyz like the late ivan matama, dj lubba style and Rhino kalemba before joining Jose chameleon and Dj bernazor as dancers and Mcs for Missouri club every Wednesday and Friday. Mc Norman is a widely acknowledged Mc after working with Sam Amooti and paddy at Jaaja Ansinansi and working at vibration disco club alongside junior plies compious, dj Roberto, dj Henry and Lota back in the days. He joined his brother and former Bakayimbira Drama actors Philip Ganja in South Africa in 1998 after briefly working at vibes sound. Together with his brother, Norman started a music and films Production company under their father’s name “Ganja†music production to basically help upgrade talent. The two brothers have worked with some of the top South African Kwaito artists including Arthur Mafokate, the late Zombo, Purity and Penny penny the Shangani music star. Their Film Company has produced movies like “welcome to south Africa†which sold up to 2million copies in Uganda and 5000 copies in South Africa on the day of its release. They also produced “Buladina†, a tribute film about the life of fallen star Paul Kafero. Mc Norman released singles like “I remember the day, Agayaaye Feat King Saha, Nkubira Feat Papa Cidy, Sweet Babe , and Ndiyabuza alongside Rustenburg based South African top vocalist. A Reggae Music Journey and inspiration When Lucky Dube died, it seems he took with him not only his rare legacy, but reggae as a whole. Few musician even dare to do reggae songs these days and yet it is still a relevant genre because young international musos such as Melanie Fiona and Rihanna are still releasing a reggae song or two on their albums. The Marley brothers still tour and if Lauryn Hill gets over what made her leave the game, even she could drop an instant reggae hit. Yet no one on the local scene is willing to try out the Jamaican sound, well, until Mc Norman (pictured) stepped onto the scene. The Ugandan singer, who is based in South Africa, emerged on the scene when the music industry needed a hero. Let’s face it, we have all the house, rock and hip hop music to last last a couple of years. With Jah Seed seemingly retired from the music scene it is a little gloomy for the conscious reggae heads.Which is why it is refreshing to have a new voice to the dying genre who is set to change things in a big way. His album Lover’s Rock boasts 11 tracks that have deep reggae roots yet are tweaked to meet current musical trends. “I write music from things that I experience in my life,†said the animated singer. “I write a song so many times as therapy for the things that I go through. As we speak I have about 275 unreleased songs that just came from stuff I was going through.†If you have a listen to the refreshing Lover’s Rock you will wish you had the 275 cuts on one CD, but for now we have to be patient. The album starts off with I Remember The Day, a well put together joint that speaks of reminiscing of a time when love first started. “No matter how hard you try, you can never forget the first time you met the one you love. This is where I took the idea of this song from. The first meeting is always a special one because everyone is still curious and they don’t know much about each other so they enjoy the curiosity,†he said. For someone who is not originally from Jamaica it is interesting that his patois is on point. You would think Buju Banton or Beanie Man was on the mic. But being born to Eddy and Rossette Ganja in Uganda in 1975, when reggae and ragga were the staple sounds, there was no escape for the young Mc Norman. He grew up with a rich background in break dancing and soon shifted his talents to songwriting and singing. After deciding to move to South Africa, Mc Norman soon discovered that he had found a niche with his sound. “I am not competing with kwaito,R&B, or Afro-pop. I am just doing something totally different. “People love reggae and, let’s face it, no one is doing it,†he explained. Great artists know that it’s never enough to think outside the box – you have to act outside of it. Thinking without action is passive, and Atlanta-based R&B mastermind Velate is too much of a warrior to sit back and let success come to him. Fueled with urgency and an insatiable desire to prove his worth, the up-and-coming artist has made ripples across Georgia, working with the region’s most notable producers, and winning over fans with his compelling songwriting and unforgettable hooks.
Raised in Detroit and relocated to Atlanta in 2005, Andrew "Velate" Spencer has always been around music. Growing up in Michigan in a household that played Marvin Gaye, Baby Face, Luther Vandross, and Aretha Franklin, he later found inspiration in R. Kelly, Boyz II Men, and Usher. And while he performed in the church choir at the age of 9, his true foray to the stage began in high school. “What first inspired me to perform was a talent show I did,” he explains. “The reaction of the crowd was a feeling I had never felt before. I made my decision right then and there that I wanted to be a performer.”
Full of ambition, Velate moved to Atlanta after high school to pursue a career in music – and his decision seems to have paid off. He’s worked with renowned producers such as Kenny Hickson (Boyz II Men, Carl Thomas) and Bolo Da Producer (Future, Jamie Fox), released a mixtape with local rapper King Shump (titled "Game Recognize Game") that went viral online, and his single "Sore Loser" debuted at #25 on the DRT National Airplay Top 80 Independent Chart, #20 on the DRT National R&B/Hip Hop Charts, and #182 on DRT National Top 200. He’s also written music for hip hop sensation Silento', and is a frequent collaborator with numerous Atlanta rappers.
But his success hasn’t come easy, and Velate always seems to be staring adversity in the face and overcoming obstacles. In February 2015, his brother Alexander Spencer Jr. tragically died, causing his entire life to crumble. "My older brother Alex was my world," he says. "His only dream was for me to live my dream."
And living that dream is what Velate plans to do. Currently working on new material, he’s turning his misfortune into fortune. “I want people to know that it's okay to be vulnerable, it's okay to display complete honesty in your music. Because the pain you do share might heal someone else's.”

Tattooed with pictures of AK-47s, Miami's six-foot, 300-pound rap figure known as Rick Ross embraced his city's reputation for drug trafficking on his debut single, "Hustlin'," in 2006. While Atlanta and Houston artists were establishing their cities as Southern strongholds, Ross aimed at putting Miami back in rap's national spotlight. Ross, real name William Roberts, grew up in Carol City, Florida, an impoverished northern suburb of Miami. Influenced by artists like Luther Campbell and the Notorious B.I.G., Roberts formed local rap group the Carol City Cartel and began rapping in the mid-'90s. (He took his rap name from Los Angeles drug kingpin "Freeway" Rick Ross, who ran one of the largest crack cocaine distribution networks in the country during the '80s and early '90s.) Ross had a brief stint on Suave House Records, former label of Eightball & MJG, before he ended up on Miami-based Slip 'N' Slide Records, the label home of Trick Daddy and Trina. During the early to mid-2000s, he became popular and well-known locally through touring with Trick Daddy and appearing as a guest on a few Slip 'N' Slide releases, but didn't release any solo material until 2006. Once "Hustlin'" caught the ear of a few executives within the national industry, a bidding war ensued that included offers from Bad Boy CEO Sean "Diddy" Combs and The Inc. (formerly Murder Inc) president Irv Gotti. Nonetheless, Def Jam president and veteran rapper Jay-Z signed Ross to a multi-million-dollar deal. The Miami anthem "Hustlin'" went on to receive gold status from the RIAA in May 2006 and sold over a million ringtone units before the physical release of his debut album, Port of Miami. Released in August 2006, Ross' debut was Slip 'N' Slide's first project under the Def Jam partnership, and it went to number one on the Billboard album chart. His follow-up, Trilla, was released the following year, prefaced with the Cool & Dre-produced title track. Early 2009 saw the release of Deeper Than Rap, an album greeted with numerous positive reviews in the hip-hop press. In early 2010 he released the Teflon Don album featuring the hit single "B.M.F. (Blowin' Money Fast)." The star-studded God Forgives, I Don't followed in 2012, with guest shots from Jay-Z and Mary J. Blige. At the start of 2013, he announced details of his sixth studio album. He enlisted the help of Scott Storch and DJ Khaled as executive producers and released the pre-album single "No Games" featuring Future. The album, titled Mastermind, landed in March of 2014 with the simultaneous release of the single "War Ready" featuring Young Jeezy. Just six months later, Ross announced that he would be releasing his seventh studio album, Hood Billionaire, toward the end of 2014. The album arrived in November of that year and was preceded by the singles "Elvis Presley Blvd." and "Keep Doin' That (Rich Bitch)." Aubrey Drake Graham (born October 24, 1986) is a Canadian rapper, singer, songwriter and actor. He was born in Toronto, Ontario. He first garnered recognition for his role as Jimmy Brooks on the television series Degrassi: The Next Generation. Dijon Isaiah McFarlane (born June 5, 1990), professionally known as DJ Mustard, is an American record producer, songwriter and DJ from Los Angeles, California. He is perhaps best known for being the official DJ of Compton-bred rapper YG, as well as for producing a string of hit singles since his entrance into mainstream music in 2011. Mustard's production style has been described as an up-tempo, club oriented, catchy yet rudimentary melodic hip hop style. This style has snowballed into the contemporary production style of West Coast hip hop during the early 2010s, which he calls "ratchet music". Almost all of his productions begin or end with the tag "Mustard on the beat, hoe!", a voice sample of YG, who says it at the end of "I'm Good", one of their early collaborations. Mustard's debut album, 10 Summers, was released on August 26, 2014.

Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr. (born September 27, 1982), known by his stage name Lil Wayne, is an American rapper from New Orleans, Louisiana. In 1991, at the age of nine, Lil Wayne joined Cash Money Records as the youngest member of the label, and half of the duo The B.G.'z, alongside fellow New Orleans-based rapper Lil' Doogie. In 1996, Lil Wayne formed the southern hip hop group Hot Boys, with his Cash Money label-mates Juvenile, Young Turk and Lil' Doogie (who now goes by B.G.). Hot Boys debuted with Get It How U Live!, that same year. Most of the group's success came with their platinum-selling album Guerrilla Warfare (1999) and the 1999 single "Bling Bling". Along with being the flagship artist of Cash Money Records, Lil Wayne is also the chief executive officer (CEO) of his own label imprint, Young Money Entertainment, which he founded in 2005.
Lil Wayne's solo debut album Tha Block Is Hot (1999), was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). His subsequent albums, Lights Out (2000) and 500 Degreez (2002), went on to be certified gold. Wayne reached higher popularity with his fourth album Tha Carter (2004), which was led by the single "Go D.J." and his appearance on Destiny's Child's Top 10 single "Soldier", that same year. The album was followed by Tha Carter II (2005), as well as several mixtapes and collaborations throughout 2006 and 2007. His 2011 album and first following his release, Tha Carter IV, sold 964,000 copies in its first week of availability in the United States. It includes the singles "6 Foot 7 Foot", "How to Love" and "She Will". On September 27, 2012, Lil Wayne passed Elvis Presley as the male with the most entries on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, with 109 songs. Lil Wayne's eleventh studio album, Tha Carter V has been delayed multiple times and has no scheduled release date.

Omari Ishmael Grandberry (born November 12, 1984), known as Omarion, is an American R&B singer, songwriter, dancer and actor. He is best known as being the lead singer of R&B group B2K. Managed by Christopher B. Stokes, the group achieved success with hits like "Bump, Bump, Bump". After the group's disbandment, Omarion released his debut solo album O.
