5 am is a 22-year-old hip-hop artist that has been doing music since the adolescent age of 6. The enigmatic artist is currently based in Atlanta, Georgia where he is pursuing and working hard to make a name for himself within the music industry. During the time he was trying to figure out his place within music, he started out just making beats because he wasn’t too fond of his voice. It wasn’t until the year of 2013, when the artist began recording in an actual studio and focused on being an artist full time.

Since becoming a full time artist, 5am has gained his vocal presence. The more 5am started to love his voice, the more confident he grew within himself. With his new found confidence within his vocals, 5am was able to start performing live. At this point, he has been able to capture audience’s attention with his voice and grow a tremendous fan base. The artist finds his biggest musical inspirations in fashion and women in which you are able to hear in a plethora of his music.

Busting out of Atlanta in 2011 with his hit street track "Tony Montana," rapper Future grew up in Atlanta's Zone 6 section. Born Nayvadius Cash, hip-hop was in his family, as his cousin was producer Rico Wade. It was his local crew who gave him his moniker, dubbing him "The Future of Rap," something the nation got to experience in 2010 when he partnered with Gucci Mane for the mixtape Free Bricks. In 2011, he released the street album Streetz Calling and made a guest appearance on YC's mixtape hit "Racks." In the fall of that year, as "Tony Montana" was catching fire, it was announced that Future would be signing to the Epic Label Group thanks to producer and C.E.O. L.A. Reid. Future's debut album, Pluto, landed on Epic proper in 2012. Featuring valuable input from Snoop Dogg, T.I., and Juicy J, it debuted at number two on the pop chart. Later that year, Future enjoyed high-profile credits (co-writing and performance) on Rihanna's Unapologetic with the track "Loveeeeeee Song," and early 2013 brought a compilation mixtape, F.B.G.: The Movie, on his own Freebandz imprint. Later that year, Future and Ciara announced their engagement. Future's second full-length album, initially known as Future Hendrix but later retitled Honest, was issued in early 2014. It earned both critical acclaim and popular success and peaked at number two. Two singles from the album, "Move That Dope" (featuring Pharrell, Pusha T, and Casino) and "I Won" (featuring Kanye West), charted inside the rap Top 20. A few months after the album's release, Future and Ciara's split was made public. During late 2014 and early 2015, Future was on a creative roll with three mixtapes, as well as another major hit, "Fuck Up Some Commas." They primed his fans for third album DS2, which debuted at number one in July 2015. Only two months later, What a Time to Be Alive, a mixtape collaboration with Drake, reached the same spot. In early 2016 he dropped the surprise album Evol, which arrived unannounced but still debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 albums chart. In November of that year, Future issued another Drake-assisted single, "Used to This," from his Beast Mode 16 mixtape. ~ David Jeffries

Based in New Jersey but influenced by Gucci Mane and other Southern hip-hop acts, Fetty Wap first hit in 2015 when he rapped and sang his way through his hit single "Trap Queen." Born and raised in Paterson, New Jersey, Fetty (sometimes known as Fetty Guwap after Gucci Mane's GuWop alias) launched his career alongside Montana Bucks, Khaos, and P. Dice in the hip-hop group Remy Boyz. In 2014, he released the solo singles "Addicted" and "Zoovier" and appeared on the Remy Boyz mixtape 1738. The mixtape was referenced at the beginning of Fetty's 2015 solo single "Trap Queen," a track that jumped into the Top 20 of Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart in its third week of release. The hit was soon remixed by French Montana and crossed into the Top Ten of the Billboard Hot 100, while Fetty joined Young Thug and Migos on Lyor Cohen's 300 Entertainment label. The follow-up single, "My Way," climbed into the Top Ten of the Billboard singles chart, and landed on Fetty's self-titled debut, a 2015 album that kept it in the family with all guest appearances coming from members of the Remy Boyz. Fetty Wap debuted at the top of the Billboard 200. A pair of mixtapes and Grammy nominations followed, as well as a steady stream of singles including "Wake Up," which broke into the Billboard Top 50 in the summer of 2016. ~ David Jeffries

The rapper had spent time in the studio, but never allowed his music to be heard by the public until 2015. He was working construction when he decided "Wat U Mean (Aye, Aye, Aye)" would be his debut track, and when it dropped in late 2015, it became a regional hit. YFN Lucci recently reached a career milestone when he peaked at #1 on the Urban radio charts with "Key To The Streets" featuring Migos and Trouble. Although the success tastes sweet, the Think It's A Game rapper won't be caught taking his foot of the pedal as he continues to make new music and prepare a new album for 2017.

Today, Lucci unloads his official follow-up single, "Everyday We Lit" featuring Philly artist PnB Rock. Produced by June James "Everyday We Lit" is yet another instantly-infectious banger from the Atlanta native, further proving that he has what it takes to create top-notch music in a game where many artists fizzle out.

Some have called it the Id and the Ego, the good and the bad, the fun and the serious. For 2 Piece Malone, it’s an identity that he hopes fans will embrace through his self-proclaimed “yin and yang” music.  In the meantime, he hopes fans will be impressed with a new single he’s released called “Barz” that’s available on Spotify, Soundcloud, iTunes, Amazon, and Google Play. It’s a song that’s somewhat “psychedelic” in a sense.  “It’s a song that came about on one of those nights when I took some Xanax bars and was listening to some beats and that’s what popped into my head,” he said. “It’s one of the standout songs on the EP I released (“2 Piece Malone – NLFS,” available on iTunes). It’s a comical song but it also has a double meaning. It’s lyrical and funny and psychedelic and trippy all at the same time.”

A founding member of the turntablist crew the-Allies, a frequent collaborator with Ludacris, and a solo artist on his own, Miami's DJ Infamous is the man behind hits like Lil Wayne's "Mr. Carter" and Meek Mill's "Maybach Curtains." Born Marco Rodriguez-Diaz, Infamous played guitar in bands and competed in turntablist contests with his DJ crew, the-Allies. In 1998 he won the ITF USA DJ Champion competition while 1999 saw him win the DMC USA Team DJ Champion competition, a title he won again in 2000 and 2001. His production career kicked off in 2005 when three of his cuts landed on Juelz Santana's album What the Game's Been Missing!, while his relationship with Weezy began in 2007 with one cut on the Lil Wayne EP The Leak. "Mr. Carter" followed in 2008 along with work on Wayne's album Tha Carter III, including playing keyboards and guitar alongside singer Betty Wright on the track "Playin' with Fire." Work with the Game, Fat Joe, Rick Ross, Jah Cure, Drake, and many others followed, then in late 2013, Infamous launched his own artist career with the single "Double Cup" featuring Young Jeezy, Juicy J, and Ludacris. ~ David Jeffries

California-born, Tupelo-raised, Atlanta-based rap duo Rae Sremmurd debuted on Mike WiLL Made It's late-2013 mixtape Mike Will Been Trill with "We," a scraping, lashing party track. While their name could have been read as a backward-spelled alias for Mike WiLL's songwriting and production syndicate EarDrummers, Rae Sremmurd turned out to be two young and exuberant rappers, Swae Lee (Khalif Brown) and Slim Jimmy (Aaquil Brown). They were former members of Dem Outta St8 Boyz, a trio that had competed on the Wild Out Wednesday segment of BET's 106 & Park program. In February 2014, "We" was issued as Rae Sremmurd's first official single through Mike WiLL's Made-It Mafia label. Throughout the rest of 2014, following the signing of a contract with Interscope, the rowdy "No Flex Zone" and relatively kicked-back "No Type" and "Throw Sum Mo" (featuring Nicki Minaj and Young Thug) were released as preludes to the early-2015 album SremmLife. All three singles reached the Top Ten of Billboard's Hot Rap Songs chart. The first two received platinum certifications. In 2016, they returned with the single "By Chance," along with SremmLife 2, their sophomore LP. ~ Andy Kellman

He started with YG, as heard on the 2010 mixtape The Real 4Fingaz, but his first big hit came the following year with Tyga's "Rack City," which reached number seven on Billboard's Hot 100 chart and went double platinum. His 2012 hits came with 2 Chainz's "I'm Different" -- another double-platinum smash -- and Young Jeezy's "R.I.P." The year also saw the release of a DJ Mustard mixtape, Ketchup, on which he was joined by many of the above-mentioned rappers, as well as Dom Kennedy, Casey Veggies, and Cashout. After working a string of behind-the-scenes jobs -- including writing songs for Brandy, singing backup for the Sugababes, and impersonating Elvis -- songwriter/producer Bruno Mars put his name on top of the charts in 2009 by co-writing Flo Rida's hit song "Right Round." One year later, he collaborated with rapper B.o.B on “Nothin’ on You,” and co-wrote Travie McCoy's "Billionaire," both of which became Top Ten hits. Mars used that momentum to launch a solo career, quickly becoming the first male vocalist in two decades to crack the Top Ten with his first four singles. Born Peter Hernandez in Honolulu, Hawaii, Mars kicked off his career at the age of four by fronting his uncle’s band, becoming Oahu's youngest Elvis impersonator in the process. Ten years later, he was impersonating the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, as part of the Legends in Concert show. After graduating high school in 2003, he took his uncle's advice and moved to California to pursue a music career. After months of frustration, he met songwriter Phillip Lawrence, who convinced Mars to try his hand at writing songs for other artists. The two dubbed themselves the Smeezingtons and co-wrote “Long Distance,” which was recorded in 2008 by R&B singer Brandy. More offers arrived after that, and Mars and Lawrence scored their first number one hit in 2009, when they co-authored Flo Rida's international smash "Right Round." By 2010, Mars seemed to be everywhere: singing alongside B.o.B on the chart-topping "Nothin' on You," co-writing Travie McCoy's "Billionaire," and collaborating with Cee-Lo Green on the Grammy-nominated hit "F*ck You!" He also began issuing his own material, starting with the May 2010 release of his first EP, It's Better If You Don't Understand. Doo-Wops & Hooligans, Mars' full-length debut, appeared later that year and quickly produced a number one single, "Just the Way You Are." In 2012, Mars both hosted and performed as a musical guest on Saturday Night Live, debuting tracks from his upcoming album. That album, the genre-jumping effort Unorthodox Jukebox, was released that same year, and featured the lead-off single "Locked Out of Heaven," along with production from Mark Ronson, Diplo, and others. "Locked Out of Heaven" topped the pop charts, and the album reached number two in the U.S. (The second single, "When I Was Your Man," also hit number one.) All that success made Mars a natural for one of the world's most prestigious gigs, the halftime show for Super Bowl XLVIII in February 2014, where he performed with Red Hot Chili Peppers as a musical guest and drew record ratings. Also in 2014, Unorthodox Jukebox won a Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album. The following year, he fronted Mark Ronson's "Uptown Funk," a song he co-wrote that was among the most popular singles of that year. ~ David Jeffries & Andrew Leahey
