Aaron Tyler Villanueva (born May 25 1992), better known by his stage name Nelson, or Nelly . Is a Rapper/Song Writer/Musician born in South Bend, Indiana but later raised in Niles, Michigan. Along with his solo career he is also one half of Edwardsburg, Michigan's Hip Hop duo World Champions.

Aaron's passion for Hip Hop began at the early age of 11. He states.."It was all because of the album "The Slim Shady LP". He recalls staying up so late listening to the album. It inspired him to use Eminem's songs as an outline to write his own lyrics, and it cost him his grades throughout high school. Aaron also began obsessing over early 90's hip hop including Biggie Smalls, A Tribe Called Quest, Mos Def, The Pharcyde, and Lords of the Underground, among others. In 2009, he purchased ProTools and began teaching himself how to record his own songs at his leisure. By the end of high school he had established himself as a local emcee releasing his mixtape "Da Eww Spit" as his early stage name DJ Vi11@N, late 2010 then releasing "Flow Like a Champion" Spring of 2012. He is now working on his solo project titled "Hi, My Name is Nelson."

He states, "Many other local artists are very talented but my job as competition is to be more creative." "It's hard being original in this day and age. Almost anything you could say on a record has been said before, but with all do respect, my goal is to be better than the next guy." Villanueva says his deep appreciation of music came from being in band all throughout high school. He believes he delivers a new style of flow and substance to today's new age
