Washington, D.C. - Hip-Hop/Neo-Soul/R&B Recording Artist Intellect is not only an ingenious songwriter and singer, he's a “think outside of the box” entrepreneur who has quickly become successful in the competitive fields of both modeling and music. He has never been one to settle for anything less than exactly what it is he wants. Always referring to and living by the quote of one of his idols, Muhammad Ali, “I am the greatest, I said that before I knew I was” shows the will, drive, and passion he has for his music.

As a model for SG Models and Talent, a member of SG Management and Associates, and an affiliate of Prime Time Promotions, Intellect has modeled for Beau Brummel, a high-end European men’s store in Soho NYC and ARI, a sophisticated, Italian, high-end anti-establishment clothing designer also in New York, NY. All photos were/are taken by Paul Andre, who studied under the legendary David LaChapelle. As for the artist’s name, Intellect spawned from people always referring to him or his lyrics as something for the intellectual types. His music is about more than today's talk of girls, clothes, etc. It goes back to the roots of what being an M.C. means. You know smooth, melodic, intellectual music speaking on life, his love for music and everything in between..."Real" hip-hop. Intellect has recently relocated from the Tampa, FL area, where he worked with Engineer Travis Hearns at RedRoom Recording Studio, to the Washington, D.C. area. There he has found a phenomenal location to continue his music, Cue Recording Studio. Prior to leaving Tampa, he released his debut mixtape “Life Without Music Would ‘B‘ Flat”, hosted by DJ CFC and sponsored on Datpiff which was later picked up by RythmShare as a featured mixtape (http://rhythmshare.com/3t92xg).

Intellect has a fierce loyalty to hip-hop and consistently delivers raw unabated energy in every track that he conceives. He has done numerous Open-Mic appearances at the Crow Bar in Tampa, FL and even a few appearances at the Improv during their “Neo-Nerd” Spoken Word, Poetry, and music night. Intellect is presently scheduled to appear at the Capital Crave in Frederick, MD March 4, 2011 at 9PM for a live show. Most recently, his upcoming single “Ready to Go” has received a rave review from Brooksley Media (www.bmnewreview.blogspot.com), and his street single “Off Track” has recently made the Indie Top 50 and was listed on Coast2Coast’s Indie Top 50 Vol. 6.

Born in Pensacola, FL, October 14, 1983, even as a youngster he was always into music. Intellect sang and participated in All County Chorus with his school choir all the way up until the 8th grade in junior high. He loved writing poetry and free-styling at lunch with his friends. After spending a little bit of time in the Army and saving some money he figured it was time to get busy. From 2004-2006, Intellect got heavy into battle rapping and cypher sessions, then in 2007 he heard something new...it was the most "soulful sound" he had ever heard on an instrumental. A few weeks later "It's Like What" was created and recorded at Nossaic Productions Studio in Tampa, FL. At that moment Intellect found his "place in hip-hop."

Intellect is currently traveling between D.C. and New York working on his self-titled debut album "Intellect the MC." There are rumors circulating that he may be working with Producer Shakur Green, producer for Taylor Swift and Brittany Spears, but he has yet to confirm or deny that a project is being developed or has been completed already. These ambitious plans should be helped along by the fact that his music is in rotation on up to 35 Radio Networks and "Ready to Go" is beginning to receive rave press reviews.
