Undercutting is killin the game..Im in detroit..I been djin for 10+ years..I still use turntables & a laptop wit the serato set up..Ive had people ask me the price to do a 5 hour set, I'll tell em, & after they ask around and get a price $100 cheaper they run with it..A couple of times I'd go to the party to see the d.j. that got the gig.& it would be a kid that just started wit the old gemini cdj's,a pawn shop amp,police lights & some house speakers..lol I aint hatin cause I was that kid 10 years ago. Everybody has to start somewhere,but when the young dude wit the pawn shop equipment saves up & one day gets all the equipment he needs & sets his price somebody will undercut him..If dj's stick together everybody can eat..DOnt get me wrong..Some people are just cheap as hell, but If you are new dj ask other dj's what's the average going rate before you cut prices,other dj's, & in the long run CUT YOURSELF!!!!
