At just 23 years old, Atlanta rapper Rich Homie Quan is set to take the music industry by storm. Born DeQuantes Lamar on October 4, 1989, “Quan” as close friends and family know him, is the eldest of three siblings that were raised in a single family home. Originally having dreams of becoming a professional baseball player, Quan could not ignore his passion for music.Possessing an undeniable talent for storytelling, Quan’s focus quickly changed to rapping. Dedicating countless hours in the studio, Quan began churning out street hit after hit, which eventually resulted in the 2008 smash “Stay Down” featuring the Stack Money Boys.Beginning to make his mark in Atlanta, “Stay Down” became a hood favorite and solidified the start of a promising rap career for Quan. The beginning quickly came to an unfortunate halt when Quan found himself on the wrong side of the law, which cost him over a year of his freedom. With a faithful following and committed team, they continued to push Quan’s music for his undying fans.Released in 2011, Quan returned to making music with a new outlook on life, “I can’t go back to that, this is my life and I’m thankful for it” said Quan. Things seemed to look bright again for the aspiring rapper, as fate would have it he met the man that would serve as his mentor, CEO Tezzy. Seeing the remarkable talent in Quan, Tezzy offered him a deal with his label L.O.R (Loyalty Over Royalties). Known for his outstanding work ethic, Quan remained in the studio non-stop, where he met then label mate Mafio. With similar work styles and determined attitudes, Mafio and Quan decided to form a group called, No Sleep Gang. The group’s name served as homage to their all night work habits and countless hours spent doing what they love, creating music. Quickly gaining momentum, the No Sleep Gang acquired a following with many anticipating the release of their first project Money Season. The mixtape which was slated to drop January 1, 2012 was struck by tragedy when close friend and mentor to Quan, Tezzy passed away just two weeks prior to its scheduled release.Overcoming many obstacles and faced with unspeakable pain, Quan found his way back to music and vowed to see his dream come to fruition. In 2012, Quan came back stronger than ever signing to Atlanta based independent label T.I.G (Think It’s A Game) and releasing his critically acclaimed Still Goin In mixtape. Proving to be a stepping stone for success, T.I.G also serves as home to label mates Trinidad Jame$ and ForteBowie.Rich Homie Quan has not had an easy road, proving why fans love him for his honest lyrics and triumphant spirit. Quan who is preparing to re-release his infamous mixtape has fans patiently waiting to hear the four new tracks that are featured on Still Goin In Reloaded. Quan had this to say about what’s in store, “I’m armed with good music and here to stay”. With an incredible fan base, infectious music and backed by the best in the game, many are convinced Rich Homie Quan is certified next to blow.

From the minute you press play on a track from Vert there is something distinct happening. The combination of bass, choir, and synth that a listener would liken to a production of a trap music artist begins and you may feel that you can anticipate the lyrical style and delivery to follow. But that's not what happens. A commanding voice ushers phrases and metaphors that with each bar leaves you saying "...Oh." A native of St. Louis, MO, this trend setting entrepreneur aims to utilize the gritty, chest pounding sounds from the likes of producers such as Metro and Be-Bop of 808 Mafia while still challenging us to keep up with his complex word play. All of this can be summed up. Bass City. As an introductory course, Vert issues his first ever mixtape The Prerequisite, hosted by world renowed Atlanta-based DJ Holiday, released February 20, 2013. With production from the likes of Metro, 808 Mafia, and Marvelous J The Prerequisite is shaping to be the staple mixtape for 2013. Vert Lymon, Vert's second mixtape, is slated to release Summer 2013, and features the new single Check, produced by Be-Bop. Vert Lymon features production from TM88 from 808 Mafia, producer of recent tracks such as Cee-Lo by Future, and Commasby LEP Bogus Boys. Other producers such as Metro Boomin of Karate Chop fame, and Doughboy Beatz handle the bulk of the production.

From here on out, turn the bass up and pay attention...

Atlanta rapper and T.I. protégé Young Dro decided to pursue a career in rap music in order to break the cycle of tribulations from hustling and inner-city life. Young Dro was born D'Juan Hart in Bankhead, a particularly rough neighborhood on Atlanta's west side. His inspiration for wanting to rap came from the success of one of his best friends, Chris "Daddy Mack" Smith, one half of early-'90s rap sensation Kris Kross. Musically speaking, however, Goodie Mob — also west Atlanta natives — had the biggest impact on him. Hart embarked on his professional career around 2000 when he signed to bass music rapper Raheem the Dream's local Atlanta label, Tight IV Life Records, under just the moniker Dro. He released the regional hit "Yes Sir" and album I Got That Dro around the same time T.I. dropped his debut, I'm Serious. Although he had known T.I. since the early '90s, they grew apart for some time. By early 2006, Young Dro was signed to T.I.'s imprint, Grand Hustle Entertainment. Backed by the self-proclaimed "King of the South" T.I. and major label Atlantic Records, Young Dro hit the ground running with the popular single "Shoulder Lean" in summer 2006. It had heavy rotation on BET and MTV2, and its cellular phone ringtone sold over 500,000 units. The hit single is featured on his major-label debut, Best Thang Smokin', released in late August the same year.

Big Sean took to Twitter to release his latest single "Control" to his over 4 million Twitter followers, which features 26-year-old rapper Kendrick Lamar. The seven minute song, which didn’t make it on to his upcoming album, Hall of Fame, is causing quite the stir due to one of Kendrick’s verses. On the song, Kendrick raps about being the "king of New York" even though he is actually from Compton, California. The he sings that he wants to steal fans away from the biggest names in the rap community.

2 Chainz latest single "Where U Been" hits the web and, sure enough, it comes loaded with quotables and a massive instrumental. In this case, it’s hit-maker Mike WiLL Made It behind the boards. With the booming beat behind him, the Atlanta rapper is all over the place lyrically but ties it together with the idea that he’s always been here. And what’s he been doing exactly? Buying new houses to have sex with different women and drinking codeine out of wine glasses. But the best part? Chainz notes that he wishes that his iPhone had an app called iTrap, because he doesn’t know how to use iChat. Frequent collaborator Cap-1 rides shotgun on the third verse and brings a dose of rapid-fire rhyming to the bass-heavy production. You can hear "Where You Been?" on Chainz upcoming album "B.O.A.T.S. II: Me Time" that’s due out Sept. 10.

In an attempt to escape his reality, August took to Youtube, where he posted dozens of homemade performance videos. His clips covering Musiq Soulchild, Lyfe Jennings and others went viral, generating millions of views in just over a month. It seemed that he was finally taking his first steps toward a bright future in music, but just a year later, reality hit home when his best friend was shot and killed in the streets of Houston. As quickly as August appeared, he vanished form Youtube, back to the real world. With tensions mounting at home, 16-year-old August was kicked out. Alone, he returned to New Orleans and took to the streets, selling drugs as a means of survival. With his older brother also in the streets hustling, it wouldn’t be long before August learned that the addiction to money could be as deadly as the addiction to drugs. Just days before August’s 18th birthday, his older brother was gunned down in New Orleans East, another unsolved murder in one of the nations most dangerous cities. “I never expected them [the police] to find his killer”, August explains. “People die everyday in the streets of New Orleans. Unfortunately, death has become a way of life,” but not for August. His brother’s death became his motivation to not become a statistic, but to pursue his musical aspirations on an entirely new level.

Chris came from a small Virginia town called Tappahannock. Like a lot of kids born since the early '80s, he was initially into his parents' favorite music but eventually fell under the spell of hip-hop. Around the time he reached puberty, he discovered his singing ability and switched his focus away from MC'ing. A move to New York led to being discovered by Tina Davis, a Def Jam A&R executive who became the singer’s manager shortly after losing her position to the Sony-BMG merger. The Jive label, due in part to its track record with younger artists who had established longevity (like Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake), won the bidding war for Brown and lined up several production and songwriting heavyweights, including Jermaine Dupri, Bryan-Michael Cox, Dre & Vidal, Sean Garrett, and Storch, for his self-titled first album. An immediate Top Ten hit when it was released in 2005, Chris Brown not only featured the number one “Run It!” but two other Top Ten singles in “Yo (Excuse Me Miss)” and “Say Goodbye.” Exclusive, released in 2007 and a bit of a departure from the squeaky-clean image displayed throughout the debut, was even more successful, featuring the number one single "Kiss Kiss" and two other Top Five hits. Yet another Top Five hit came with “No Air,” a duet with Jordin Sparks that appeared on Sparks' own self-titled album.
