i belive there is more to it than that, its about doing the ground work to get YOURSELF in the position have songs sent to you by artists and/or their management via networking and sometimes just meeting by chance. Anybody could say "hey im a dj send me music!!" and then just throw some compilations together. In this day and age with the internet its really not that hard to get new music.
