Hailing from the notorious Dixie Homes projects of North Memphis, Stebo (aka Bo Bizzle) has been an active part of the Memphis rap scene for over a decade. He catapulted into local stardom as a member of the rap group The Committee in the early 2000s. Stebo managed to lyrically separate himself from other members of the group due to his innate ability to deliver true-to-life stories of the successes and struggles of surviving the streets of North Memphis. The Committee’s first single “F**k Wit Ya Boy” was a grimy, catchy ode to the rim-riders and hustlers of Memphis. The record eventually garnered the support of local DJs, received ample radio play in the Mid-South region, and became an instant classic amongst the mass of underground Memphis music. To follow up the noteworthy buzz of “F**k Wit Ya Boy,” The Committee released their second single “North North,” featuring a relatively new talent at the time, Yo Gotti. “North North” became a North Memphis anthem and helped establish The Committee and Yo Gotti as up-and-coming forces within the tri-state area of Tennessee, Arkansas, and Mississippi.

Although The Committee would eventually dismantle, members and affiliates of the group such as Mac E, Stebo, and Yo Gotti were forever imprinted in Memphis rap-lore. In 2003, as Yo Gotti received more recognition, differences between Stebo and Yo Gotti escalated and a highly publicized feud ensued. This feud would spawn Yo Gotti’s “Street Wars” mixtape series that captivated a wider regional audience and helped launch Gotti into national ranks.

Since then, Stebo and Yo Gotti have reconciled. Over the years, through his record label Ain’t Nobody Straight Records, Stebo has continued to feed the streets with raw street music for the real hustlers of Memphis. Unlike many artists in the rap industry, Stebo is well respected in the streets because he has truly lived the life that many rappers tend to lyrically perpetrate. Yo Gotti and his artist Zedzilla recently reached back out to Stebo yet again and he is featured in Zedzilla’s video “Gettin Bigga” from Zilla’s mixtape “Rent’s Due.” This month, Stebo will release the first of two mixtapes hosted by one of the south’s premiere DJs and record breakers, Bigga Rankin. “Out Tha Pocket” the mixtape promises to deliver the streets an inside look into the life of a true boss!

DJs, if you’re looking for a reputable urban artist to break in your region, your search is over. Stebo possesses the street savvy of major Southern rappers such as Young Jeezy, Yo Gotti, Lil Boosie, and Tity Boi (aka 2 Chainz). This is your introduction to Stebo aka Bo Bizzle of Ain’t Nobody Straight Records. “First Round KO” featuring Murder Gang B and produced by Quantum Sounds Productions (@QSPBeats). Get familiar!
