GreenHitz.com
Eliza Smith is quickly becoming one of the hottest R&B and hip-hop phenomena on Canada's West coast and she's locking people's attention with her brand new single "Right Now" featuring a fan-favourite MC from Vancouver known as Snak The Ripper. This 25-year-old, who grew up off the coast of British Columbia on Gabriola Island, has a sultry vocal styling that rivals many mainstream musicians in her genre. Her new single "Right Now" was recently picked up by Vancouver's The Beat 94.5, Kelowna's 99.9 Sun FM and various other West coast radio statios. The turning point in Eliza's life came when she was 18, and was faced with the sudden, devastating loss of her brother, the person who had always been the most encouraging of her musical talent. She almost considered giving up, but instead turned her efforts to starting a non-profit organization called "Ride Free." This abled her to put on seven benefit concerts over the past three years to raise funds to build a skate park on Gabriola Island to provide young locals a place to skate and have fun without being forced to leave the island, and face the dangers and pitfalls of the big city. Her brother's passing has fueled her drive to succeed and is the root of her undying passion for music. Eliza is currently preparing for the release of her album debut, Fall 2011.
