Sonically, there is not that much to shout about here, but that is not the point. The fact that this CD is eminently listenable shows that a lot of work went into getting it ready for release, because I cannot imagine that they started out with the best master tape in the world. Some of the music sounds a bit corny (that brings to mind an interesting blindfold test in a recent issue of Downbeat wherein along with dropping several other little bombshell statements, Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown (April 18 1924 - September 10, 2005) was a Louisiana and Texan American blues musician. He was a highly acclaimed multi-instrumentalist, who played an impressive array of instruments such as guitar, fiddle, mandolin, viola as well as harmonica and drums. criticizes Armstrong for never really moving beyond Dixieland music), but once you just relax a little bit and start enjoying the show, with Louis doing plenty of singing along with some shucking and jiving, all your troubles just seem to fade away.
