Genre: Classical

For those that prefer to hear these works on piano rather than harpsichord, you can hardly find more enjoyable, illuminating, and elegant performances than these. Andras Schiff has surely become one of the most prominent proponents of J.S. Bach on the piano. He is a true master, and the Bach Concerto recordings with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, led by Schiff himself, exemplify this and count as essential listening.

"Schiff's control of colour and articulation never seeks to present merely a harpsichord imitation, and his shaping of Bach's lovely slow movements brings fine sustained lines and a subtle variety of touch." -- Penguin Guide [2003/2004 Edition]

"Andrs Schiff is never less than entirely musical in his Bach playing, and the qualities in his solo work do carry through to the pieces in this collection. The solo concertos cover the first two discs, and are performed very well indeed. Bouncy outer movements and generally fleet tempi meet expressive and involving central movements in a sonic feast which should bring a smile to your face and a lift to your soul."
