Energe comes from the south side of Chicago, Illinois; which was already a well-established hip-hop city. Artist such as Common, Rhymefest, Consequence, Kanye West and Twista had already put the city on the map. Nevertheless, an unproven talent does not make the leap from nobody to Superstar without his own effort. At the age of 12 he began writing music, writing songs and recording verses, beat jacking. After years of honing his craft, being signed to an independent label, then returning to the independent underground scene and learning how to really respect the art of being an artist, he truly tapped into his abilities. Earlier this year, Energe dropped three mixtapes The Brag Book Vol. 1 & 2, along with an RnB mixtape Good Guys Finish Last RnEtape, which received a high level of attention from fans. On his most recent mixtape, Study Break, he collaborates with his friend Dep, an American recording artist out of Minnesota; they come with a new, refreshing, motivational sound that gets straight to the point.
