Growing up “Stonez” was always conscious of his rapping talent, but the success that the distribution of illegal drugs offered him distracted him from pursuing a career using his talent. As “Stonez” matured so did his ability to write music (rap as well as RnB), it soon became extremely clear that his song writing ability was truly a gift and had to be pursued. JayStonez began recording songs and networking with other local aspiring artist and producers, which lead to the release of his debut mixtape “Da Life of a Glittery N*gga” (currently at over 15,000 units sold in Chicago alone). As his mixtape spread through out the City, it caught the attention of DTP/Def Jam recording artist and Chi-Town native “SHAWNNA” who quickly became one of “Stonez” biggest fans. “Shawnna” was so impressed with the level of talent and the swagger of “JayStonez” that she almost immediately signed him on to be her hype-man, and took him out on the road with her as she toured the country. With the time that has passed “Stonez” has confidently expressed his potential to succeed in the rap industry. His innovative style, and meticulous word play appeals to countless Artist and DJ’s, including another windy city veteran of the game THE MIDWEST KING “DJ SEAN MAC” with whom “Stonez” collaborates with on his 2nd mixtape release “Patiently Waiting” which includes production from the godfather of Chicago hip-hop super producer NO I.D., and has currently collaborated with: K.E on the Track, 2 CHAINZ, The Game, Hitmaka, Tink, Lil Durk, and more.
