Magna Opus, found his love for music at home at an early age – his mother was a singer and songwriter herself. He took a liking to beats and instrumentals while in middle school. In 1997 after listening to Timbaland & Magoo’s “Up Jumps Da’ Boogie”, Aaliyah and the rising Cash Money artists, the young artist began to write lyrics, mix his own beats, and ultimately became a skilled and self-taught music artist.

Magna Opus now finds his main creative influence in artists such as The Weekend, Drake, Kanye West, Timbaland, and J. Cole. His sound can best be described as luxurious and diverse. The way he delivers his lyrics is unlike any artist in the Shreveport area and overall in The South. Through his fierce dedication and focus on building a new sound far different from the norm, Magna Opus plans to open the eyes and ears of those who love great music.

This fresh, solid sound from Magna Opus sets a new standard of talent out of the 318, and attempts to bridge the gap between Shreveport and music hotspots like Toronto, New York, L.A, Miami, Chicago, and Houston.
