GreenHitz.com
Born May 22, 1991, Clifton Cooper, better known as Clif Tha Supa Producer, is a native of Hopkins, South Carolina. His southern style of production is not typical of the average Hip-Hop/R&B producer. His use of instrumentation and incorporating samples is what sets him apart from other producers. He began making beats at the age of 14. Being that his family had a great musical influence on his upbringing, it was destined that Clif Tha Supa Producer would began to create music of his own. His mother and father were his biggest musical influences. Growing up, his parents and a close family friend formed a band named C&C Connection. Clif’s mother, Patricia Cooper sang lead vocals, his father, Marion C. Cooper, Sr., played keyboard and sang background vocals, and a close friend of the family, Curtis Knightner, sang lead vocal as well. Clif was always surrounded by music his entire life. Production was something that came natural. To him, each beat he made was another step of progression to being one of the best producers of the Hip-Hop/R&B genre. Clif Tha Supa Producer has produced tracks for SC artists such as Tre Pleesn, Boss G, T-Roc of 48 Camp, Chuck Teez, and majority of in-house tracks for independent rap crew The StackHouse. In May of 2013, he has worked with former Bad Boy artist Chopper City on the song titled "Swing My Way" on his ’Fillmore Slim' mixtape and other projects with Chopper City. Over the years, Clif has also released five volumes of original instrumental mixtapes online with DJ Cannon Banyon. Graduating from South Carolina State University and earning his certification in audio recording/engineering were Clif’s two biggest accomplishments from December 2014 - April 2015. Unfortunately, those celebrations were short-lived when tragic struck. On April 15, 2015, Clif’s mother passed away due to multiple health complications. He continued to keep working on music and taking care of his father the rest of that year, but that was one of his most difficult times. Then, on January 3, 2016, Clif’s father passes away due to multiple health complications. Overcoming many adversities, Clif Tha Supa Producer is working hard to gain major recognition. Not only does he want to make himself more known, but to also bring attention to the entire music scene of South Carolina.
