Ever since she was a young child growing up in her hometown of Minneapolis, MN, solo-artist Fancy has been in love with music and its connection to everything around her. Living in a state well-known for putting out some of the most fantastic music of our generation like Prince and Bob Dylan, Fancy grew up listening and becoming more influenced by these incredible sounds as she quickly began to develop her own.

The middle-child of three siblings, her natural ability for entertaining & performing showed early on as she sang in church & school-choirs, enrolled in drama classes and modelling school. Her talent for arts & entertainment was once again on full display as she continued into high-school as a cheerleader, also learning new skills in music playing for five years on the cornet and eventually moving onto the clarinet. As she refined her vocal-sounds and singing-style, Fancy was also learning the connection each instrument had between each other and how everything fit together; beginning to figure out that with her natural talents, enthusiasm and skills she could possibly live this dream herself one day.

The dream was put on hold after Fancy became pregnant as a seventeen year-old. Everything in her life turned upside down as she struggled to break free from the abusive relationship she’d been a part of with the father of her son. Through support, positivity, love and music…shortly after her little boy turned three, Fancy came back to the music stronger and more creatively determined than ever before.

With a self-titled hit-single being picked up by VH1’s popular show ‘Basketball Wives’ and shortly after featured on ABC’s ‘Don’t Trust The B In Apartment 23,’ things began to turn around immediately as peers and music-fans began to catch onto her vibe. Releasing her self-titled debut album Fancy, she scored a hit-single with “Kiss On The Mirror” charting extremely well and featuring J-Stylz from the Grammy award-winning group Blackstreet.

Bouncing between genres and pushing her creative-boundaries between pop/hip-hop and R&B music, Fancy went on to release the I AM EP in 2012 and the energetic R&B-meets-pop album Curls Pearls And Lollipops shortly after in 2013. Far from finished, Fancy went underground in 2014 to begin work on her latest project, a mixtape called South Side, planned for release in 2015. With her vibrant tone, electric-style and charismatic performances – Fancy is more than just another artist to watch this year – she’s the complete entertainment package.
