GreenHitz.com
EPILL= “Eric- Paradise In Living Life.” The latter part of his name, while understandably controversial, is from Revelations 2:7- life may be full of obstacles but I live life everyday like I’m in paradise. It’s his way of portraying how anything negative can easily be turned into a positive; a practice that has become a necessity also in his real life. Growing up against the many odds he faced in Philadelphia, at age 16 he then moved to New Jersey, Eric overcame them all and prospered not only as a college graduate, but as a professional and a flourishing hip hop artist. Born May 31, 1988- the younger of two boys to a young single mother, statistically, he’s supposed to be in one of two places. However, making his everyday goal to keep a smile on his mother’s face and give bragging rights to his older brother, Eric worked twice as hard to overcome all obstacles (refer back to Revelations 2:7) and has achieved this goal many times over! Coming up, Eric was always interested in music. He was raised on the “oldies-but-goodies” and always had a heart for hip-hop. He has always shown an advanced understanding for the deep metaphoric references and always paid very close attention to the lyrics. The lyrics, he felt, is what made the songs come to life. The lyrics were the key to understanding that artist and what message they were trying to convey. The artists and lyrics that moved him the most were from Jay-Z, Biggie Smalls, Jada Kiss, State Property and last but certainly not least, Sam Cooke. Eric only began performing this deep passion in 2012, when he and his friends would freestyle battle back in college. After a few cyphers, it quickly became realized that Eric was good at this- damn good! So good, that music and creating was all he could think about. He began to live it, breathe it, eat it, drink it and make love to it, resulting in the birth of EPILL and music reflecting his life and experiences. Music that anyone who has ever said “the struggle is real” could relate to; music that puts a smile on his mother’s face and makes his big brother proud. As his fan-base and popularity began to grow in the tri-state area, EPILL knew his movement needed to grow- knew that it would grow. And grow, is exactly what it did! Follow @Epill23 on twitter!
