Popular hard rock/blues soul band from Northwest Indiana, originally formed by Indiana natives Larry Ryder (guitar)and George Buck (Drums). But first there was Shank, Shank and Tootsie. That pre-incarnate lineup was comprised of Ryder (guitar), Stan Serna (Drums) and Medo Cortez (Bass). The band played the chitlin circuit of the Gary, Indiana area emerging from the backdrop of the blue collar steel mill communities and environments. After some personel changes and the namesake addition, they added Arnie Strezolinski(Bass) and a Keyboard/Vocalist from local band, Stonewood Fox named Allen Kulasa. Al's dynamic voice and penchant for the catchy pop tunes struck a chord with the hard rocking Ryder. Although Kulasa's influence was more from the soulful dimension of the likes of R n B stars like Lionel Richie and Kool and the Gang, the trio replaced Strezolinski with veteran bassist Joel "Baby" Valdez and fattened up their sound adding Mike Haney on the saxophone. The writing style created a string of songs not to escape your mind so easy, such as soulful hard classics such as "Rock with No Pension" a song which won them a contest from Indiana's Beat Magazine 1990, Best band in the State of Indiana, "Columbian Heights" and "Take a Little Time" a song that was included on Best of the Region local band compilation CD. They soon gained a notariety for filling in for missing headliners and show stopping bass and drum solos. In 1990, the band picked up momentum opening up for national touring acts such as Robin Trower, Johnny Winter and Foghat at the popular Club Dimensions nightclub in Highland.
