Q Bosilini is a rapper/producer from East Tennessee . His dirty south roots mixed with an incredible musicality has made it possible to work with some of the best in the business over the years. Being from a small town in Tennessee and also partially growing up in Atlanta and Florida left Q with a unique style. Q was inspired by some of his favorite rappers that he listened to while he was growing up such as 2pac, UGK, Scarface, Spice 1, 8Ball & MJG, and last but not least one of his best friends who was shot and killed by police in 1999, Sambino.
Q started his music career professionally in his early teens in 1997. He signed his first record deal with Atlanta based rap label Big South Music Group. Q remained on Big South up until 2001 but has always had particularly close ties to the label. During 2001 Q co-founded his own label Wyde Open Records along with business partner James DJ Jimmy Swafford. During this time, he was offered his 2nd contract from 101 Ent in 2002 after opening up for Nappy Roots. 101 is a label owned by Terrance Camp. Terrance Camp is the executive producer of nappy roots' first and biggest selling album " Watermelon , chicken & gritz". Unfortunately they did not see eye to eye on the contract. Q was offered his 3rd contract by Goodie Mob Records in 2003 for Artist/producer, directly after recording his song "My Pimp Wayz" featuring Khujo Goodie & Cool Breeze of the Dungeon Family but turned it down also. Q has featured in such magazines as Murder dog, The next level, & Tha Hole.
Q 's album "Aint stoppin nothin" was released on Wyde Open Records in 2004, nationally distributed by select-o-hits and promoted by Elusive inc. a company ran by Shawn Williams of Def Jam south which came with it's perks and enabled Q to be on the movie scene of "Hustle & flow" in Memphis.
Q has opened up for & headlined with major artists such as Spice 1, Twista, T.i., E-40, Fabolous, Scarface, Sugar Free, UGK, Tela, Cash money, Ludacris, Lil jon, Master P, Bubba sparxxx , Juvenile , Ying yang twins, Trina, Lil flip ,Young bloodz, Clipse, David banner, Nappy roots, Choppa, 2 live crew ,Petey Pablo ,Remy ma, Gucci mane ,B.G. ,Rick Ross, Lil Boosie, Gorilla Zoe, Ginuwine, Plies,Yo Gotti & T-pain.
Q was actually in the studio with Soulja Slim in New Orleans while the song "slow motion" was being recorded before juvenile was put on the song. Q met Soulja Slim in New Orleans while on the scene of B.G.'s video "keep it gangsta".Soulja Slim was interested in having Q sign to Cut Throat records before his death in 2003. B.G. is featured on Q's record "Aint stoppin nothin"
After a long break, Q released his album, “Reset” in 2014 independently on Plug Life. An Atlanta based label ran by life long friend BiirdGam3 & Nephew Texas Boy. Q remained on Plug Life for 2 years and later did some work with Black Fly Music, a division of Cashville Records, a.k.a., G Unit South. Q signed his most recent record deal in January of 2018 with Thug World Music Group. A label owned and operated by the legendary Spice 1. Watch out for his Latest singles, “Let God”, “Mommas Don’t Let Your Babies” and “Strapped” ft. Spice 1. His new album "The Beautiful Struggle" was released in March of 2018. The Album also has a DJ Version hosted and chopped by Texas Legend OG Ron C, which is the founder of Swisha House. After only being signed for 8 months, Spice 1 made Q Bosilini vice president of Thug World Music Group. Also rewarding Q by naming him CEO of the newly formed southern division of Thug World Music Group called Thug World South.
