Independent Recording Artist $crillz (Kevan Simms) originally began his career in production. Working with electronic sounds and heavy basses to create rough beats with a dance mix feel. As time would pass a more polished form of beat-making (utilizing drum loops with hard kicks and sharp snares) would have $crillz producing a multitude of tracks on a day to day basis and begin to try his hand at laying down actual lyrics. For someone who lives and breathes for the music, the transition was much smoother than expected.
With a sharp wit and flair for wordplay $crillz began to emerge in the city doing various collaborations with local acts as well as lending production to young up and coming artists. As Time would progress his verses could be heard on serveral mixtape efforts littered with punches, multis, and a high impact style of rhyming much like the hip hop legends so many attempt to emulate.
In 2011 a solo Mixtape fully produced by $crillz under the name BlaqueMajyk was released on Datpiff for free download and stream. The Single "Paper (prod. by Blaqwuemajyk)" A charismatic look into the mind of a typical hustler with a unrelenting drive to succeeed. While the mixtape has had many rave reviews, it has yet since to reach a mainstream level due to lack of promotions and marketing.
However in early 2013 a statement has been released of a solo EP in the works for 2014 with several tracks still being produced by $crillz as well as a few other notable collaberations. This effort brings $crillz back to the forefront in a new light, with production sounding incredibly polished next to the inspiring exibition of verbal chemistry he has become so well known for.
