He signed his first major-label record deal in 1999, with Arista Records subsidiary, LaFace Records. In 2001, T.I. formed the Southern hip hop group Pimp Squad Click (P$C), alongside his longtime friends and fellow Atlanta-based rappers. Upon being released from Arista, T.I. signed to Atlantic Records and subsequently became the co-chief executive officer (CEO) of his own label imprint, Grand Hustle Records, which he launched in 2003. T.I. is perhaps best known as one of the artists who popularized the hip hop subgenre, trap music, along with Young Jeezy and Gucci Mane, respectively.
T.I. has released nine studio albums, with seven of them reaching the top five of the US Billboard 200 chart. Throughout his career, T.I. has also released several highly successful singles, including "Bring Em Out", "Whatever You Like", "Live Your Life" (featuring Rihanna), "Dead and Gone" (featuring Justin Timberlake), "Ball" (featuring Lil Wayne) and "No Mediocre" (featuring Iggy Azalea). He earned more prominence with the release of Trap Muzik (2003), which includes the Top 40 hits, "Rubber Band Man" and "Let's Get Away". The next year, T.I. appeared on Destiny's Child's international hit, "Soldier", alongside Lil Wayne. His subsequent albums, King and T.I. vs. T.I.P., generated high record sales and were supported by popular singles, such as "What You Know" and "Big Shit Poppin'", respectively.
T.I.'s sixth album, Paper Trail (2008), became his most successful album to date, with the album being certified gold for first-week sales of over 500,000 copies in the United States, making it his third consecutive number one album. It included three international hit singles, "Whatever You Like", "Live Your Life" and "Dead and Gone". In 2013, T.I. was featured on Robin Thicke's hit single "Blurred Lines", alongside Pharrell Williams, which peaked at number one on several major music charts. Dijon Isaiah McFarlane (born June 5, 1990), professionally known as DJ Mustard, is an American record producer, songwriter and DJ from Los Angeles, California. He is perhaps best known for being the official DJ of Compton-bred rapper YG, as well as for producing a string of hit singles since his entrance into mainstream music in 2011. Mustard's production style has been described as an up-tempo, club oriented, catchy yet rudimentary melodic hip hop style. This style has snowballed into the contemporary production style of West Coast hip hop during the early 2010s, which he calls "ratchet music". Almost all of his productions begin or end with the tag "Mustard on the beat, hoe!", a voice sample of YG, who says it at the end of "I'm Good", one of their early collaborations. Mustard's debut album, 10 Summers, was released on August 26, 2014.

Rapper Trill Will Gold Grill was born Willie Rutherford in Mississippi. He was raised in Ashland, Mississippi for many of his young childhood years. Later, his mother decided to move to San Diego, California with some close relatives to pursue more work opportunities. As an unfortunate result, they became homeless and lived in a shelter for an extended period of time. While getting financially established, he and his mother moved to public housing. On a daily basis, he was exposed to robbery, drugs, and gang activity. As a young child without a positive father figure, he began to adapt to his troubled peers. Neighborhood gangs pressured him into joining. Because he refused to join, he was hospitalized that left him with a severe cut and a permanent mark that he carries today. Due to the non-stop violence in the community, his mother felt that it was best to move back South to Mississippi. Coming back to the community where he grew up during his early years, he was heavily influenced by neighborhood drug dealers. He decided to sell drugs and live the street life that his mother tried to rescue him from. Rutherford started to make music pertaining to his everyday life with no other way of expressing himself. While pursuing music and living the street life, he was convicted of drug charges, entered in and out of jail, and tried to keep up with legal fees. Because of his tough experiences, he is able to produce a musical sound life and encourage the various age groups to make it through difficult situations and better themselves.
