Shaffer Chimere Smith (born October 18, 1979), better known by his stage name Ne-Yo, is an American R&B singer, songwriter, record producer, dancer, and actor. Ne-Yo gained fame for his song-writing abilities when he penned the 2004 hit "Let Me Love You" for singer Mario. The single's successful release in the United States prompted an informal meeting between Ne-Yo and Def Jam's label head, and the signing of a recording contract.

Rita Sahatçiu Ora (born Rita Sahatçiu; 26 November 1990) is a British singer and actress. Her debut studio album, Ora, released in 2012, debuted at number one in the United Kingdom. The album contained the UK number-one singles, "R.I.P." and "How We Do (Party)". After reaching the peak position as a featured act on DJ Fresh's "Hot Right Now", Ora became the artist with the most number-one singles on the UK Singles Chart in 2012, with three consecutive singles reaching the top position. She was nominated for three Brit Awards at the 2013 ceremony.

The first single planned from her second album, "I Will Never Let You Down", became her fourth UK number one when it debuted at the top of the charts in 2014. Also in 2014, Ora featured on Iggy Azalea's single, "Black Widow", which reached number three in the US. In 2015, Ora became a coach on the fourth series of The Voice UK, and later that year, a judge on the twelfth series of The X Factor.

The progenitor of what he terms ratchet music (what others might call strip club anthems), DJ Mustard (Dijon McFarlane) is a rap and R&B DJ and producer from South Central Los Angeles, California whose 2010s rise is attributed to a simple, hypnotic sound. He started with YG, as heard on the 2010 mixtape The Real 4Fingaz, but his first big hit came the following year with Tyga's "Rack City," which reached number seven on Billboard's Hot 100 chart and went double platinum. His 2012 hits came with 2 Chainz's "I'm Different" -- another double-platinum smash -- and Young Jeezy's "R.I.P." In 2013, he was behind a quartet of singles that hit the Top Ten of Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop chart: YG's "My N*gga," Ty Dolla Sign's "Paranoid," Kid Ink's "Show Me," and Trey Songz's "Na Na." The year also saw the release of a DJ Mustard mixtape, Ketchup, on which he was joined by many of the above-mentioned rappers, as well as Dom Kennedy, Casey Veggies, and Cashout. Mustard's 2014 involved ten tracks produced for YG's My Krazy Life, collaborations with Tinashe, Ty Dolla Sign, and TeeFlii, and the development of his proper debut album. ~ Andy Kellman

Raised in the Bronx and the Dominican Republic, Kat DeLuna grew up with a love for singing and, at the age of 14, began attending the New Jersey School of the Performing Arts. She formed an all-Latina R&B group called Coquette, which once opened for rapper Cassidy, but it wasn't long before she signed with GMB Music Group through the Sony-distributed Epic label. Her debut album (9 Lives), released in August 2007, was preceded by the club track "Whine Up," featuring Elephant Man. ~ Andy Kellman
