Ext. Information: Ennio Morricone - is one of the most famous contemporary composers, and certainly the most famous composer in the world of cinema. During his long and prolific career, he has written music for more than 400 films and television series, filmed in Italy, Spain, France, Germany, Russia and the U.S.. Morricone has admitted that he does not remember exactly how many soundtracks he has created, but it turns out that he wrote an average of one a month.

As a film composer he was five times nominated for an Oscar, and in 2007 he received an Academy Award for his outstanding contribution to cinema. In addition, in 1987 for the music for the film "The Untouchables" (English The Untouchables) he was awarded a Golden Globe and Grammy. Among the films to which Morricone wrote the music, it should be noted: "A Fistful of Dollars", "A Few Dollars More", "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Once Upon a Time in the Wild West," "Once in America," "Mission "The Decameron," "Bugsy," "Professional," "The Untouchables", "New Cinema" Paradise "," TV's "Octopus".

Ennio Morricone's music taste is very difficult to describe accurately. His arrangements have always been very diverse, they can hear classical, jazz, and Italian folk, and avant-garde, and even rock and roll. Morricone likes to use different instruments, from accordions and horns to electric guitars, but his style - is to use a female voice as a tool for shielding lush orchestration.

Contrary to popular belief, Morricone created not only the soundtrack he wrote and instrumental chamber music, which in 1985 even made a tour of Europe, personally conducting the orchestra at the concerts.

Twice in his career Ennio Morricone himself starred in the movies, which he wrote music, and in 1995 about the maestro was filmed a documentary. Ennio Morricone is married with four children, he lives in Rome. His son Andrea Morricone also wrote music for films. Cult American group "Metallica" since the late 80's every concert opens the song The Ecstacy Of Gold from the classic western "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly." In 2000 it was played in the project "S & M" for the first time in a live performance (cover version).

After leaving Scandal in 1984, vocalist Patty Smyth waited three years before launching her solo career with the Never Enough album. Although it sold respectably, it didn't have any major hit singles. Smyth returned to the top of the charts in 1992 with "Sometimes Love Just Ain't Enough," a duet with Don Henley; the single hit number two and went gold. Its parent album, Patty Smyth, also went gold and featured two other minor hits, "No Mistakes" and "I Should Be Laughing."

As well as being an indispensabile instrument for accompanying violin sonatas, trios and quartets, the guitar was often used by Paganini as a solo instrument, especially during the years of his youth. All Paganinis guitar compositions are written for chittarra [sic] francese, as the musician frequently defined it, that is the guitar with six simple strings. In the last decade of the eighteenth century this new type of guitar had definitively replaced the old five-string model, also known as the Spanish guitar. The 37 Sonatas M.S. 84 are mostly two-movement compositions (only the eleventh and the last four are single-movement works), on the model of the sonatas for violin and guitar. The one thing that is missing, compared to these sonatas, is a genuine slow movement. The first movement is always a Minuetto in 3/4 time, and is often of virtuoso character, whilst the second may be an Allegretto, a Valtz, a Rondoncino, etc. This recording was made using a copy of the Panormo guitar of 1822 built by the Renato Barone. In the ritornelli, Guido Fichtner has added occasional little variations and embellishments to Paganinis score, offering a reading that is highly virtuoso, brilliant and full of imagination to these original, important examples of the history of the guitar in the nineteenth century.

Few stars of the '60s have reinvented themselves as successfully as Marianne Faithfull. Coaxed into a singing career by Rolling Stones manager Andrew Loog Oldham in 1964, she had a big hit in both Britain and the U.S. with her debut single, the Jagger/Richards composition "As Tears Go By" (which prefaced the Stones' own version by a full year). Considerably more successful in her native land than the States, she had a series of hits in the mid-'60s that set her high, fragile voice against delicate orchestral pop arrangements: "Summer Night," "This Little Bird," and Jackie DeShannon's "Come and Stay with Me." Not a songwriter at the outset of her career, she owes more of her fame as a '60s icon to her extraordinary beauty and her long-running romance with Mick Jagger, although she offered a taste of things to come with her compelling 1969 single "Sister Morphine," which she co-wrote (and which the Stones later released themselves on Sticky Fingers).

Blondie - Japanese Singles (2011) FLAC

This collection consists of ten Japanese singles given to me by ringosshed and one US single. When I started this project, I didn't realize that "One Way or Another" was a North American single only. The rest of the world got "Sunday Girl" in it's place. I couldn't imagine a singles collection without this track, so I included the US single (following the "Sunday Girl" single in chronological order, though I'm not certain which one came out first). For all intents and purposes the releases were simultaneous. "One Way" reached #26 on Billboard and was the band's fifth most successful US single. Another quirk in the Japanese catalog is that "Kidnapped" seemingly was released as a single in Japan and nowhere else in the world. Perhaps not coincidentally it is also the only one of the singles that uses the Chrysalis green label (all of the others using the white to blue fade featured in the included artwork). Also of interest is the Japanese first single. In the US the first three Blondie singles (chronologically) were "X Offender","In The Flesh" and "Rip Her To Shreds" (with their corresponding B-sides). The first Japanese single utilized "Rip" as the A-side and "Flesh" and "X" as a two track B-side. The version of "X" used on the Japanese single is the standard album version. When Private Stock (Blondie's first US label) issued "X", it had a slightly different sound, but it's no big whoop either way. To my ears the album version is the exact same two track master as the earlier single, just with some reverb added. The reverb helps the vocal and really helps the snare, but it serves to wash out the tambourine and maracas, giving a Phil Spector Wall of Mud sound to the track. What would be great is if they went back to the multis and added the reverb where it helps but keeping the high stuff clean. FYI, I also included a "Bonus" folder with a couple of MP3s that were on the old official Blondie site but aren't on the new one. I didn't get them from there myself, but as far as I know they are unchanged from the original sanctioned free downloads. The bonus folder also contains (labeled as "16b") the flip of "Call Me" which is an instrumental credited to Georgio Moroder, though it does use Blondie's vocal track.

Burning instructions...

You will notice that there are two sets of art, one labeled "purist". For those who agree with me that a Blondie singles collection can not exclude "One Way or Another", just burn the tracks as they are presented (in US chronological order) and use the corresponding art. For the "purists" who want a true Japan only collection, remove tracks 12 and 13, add 16b from the bonus folder and renumber the tacks to match the "purist" art. My hope is that sharing it this way will satisfy everyone.
