    Rhetoric

Indiana, Pennsylvania is were it all started, when two young football players met, they had the same ambitions but never knew. These two kids came from different parts of Pennsylvania and both took different paths to end up at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). Rhetoric Was born and raised in Altoona, grew up there, and excelled in all sports. He wasn't positive on what to do after high school, He wanted to play football in college but wasn't sure any one would take a chance on him, but let me say the kid could play. So he enrolled at IUP for their summer program where things didn't pan out as planned which then caused him to take a different route, straight to the working world. Here he worked for a pizza shop for about 3 years, and in that 3 years is where he was introduced to real life. Coming from a small city, but to him had big problems, mostly with drugs. Now he dabbled in and did what he did with the knowledge he had at the time, not knowing that this would play a vital roll in the next phase of his life. Friends and family started disappearing do to substance abuse and he found himself full of emotion that sometimes, well most times, was let out with alcohol and his fists. On one September night, he ran into what would change his outlook on life forever. At a friends party, things got out of control and a fight broke out. Things got carried away, and long story short, Rhetoric ended up in the ICU with 9 lacerations to the head, neck, arms and ribs, that are still scarred to this day. Lucky to survive this trauma, then and there he knew he needed to get away and get back on the path. After a sit down with his family he decided he was ready to jump back into college. When he decided on his choice he made it to be Indiana University of Pennsylvania and play football.

Pick, grew up in Bridgeville Pennsylvania which is 15 minutes outside of Pittsburgh. He was the same way, Pick excelled at three sports, and found his way to the University of Pittsburgh for football. While attending Pitt he had met the greatest friends he could ever meet in which to this day he still talks too. One day in the spring semester though things changed for him. He was involved in a street fight vs a fraternity. This fight started over sticking up for a teammate. The fight was so bad, 4 people were sent to the hospital and he had charges pending against him. He was only an 18 yr old kid and fights happen but he didn't think it would turn out to be like this. Eventually the charges got dropped but in order for that he had to pay major dues. Some things didn't go his way and he had a hard choice to make. Stick around and try to get out of the coaches doghouse or Transfer, leave all your best friends behind to play right away. He decided to transfer to the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and little did he know RUI Records and Be-|es|-te (B.S.T.) was about to form.

Rhetoric and Pick didn't know at the time, but they both had two loves in common. Football and Music. Football brought the two together battling through blood sweat and tears. Rhetoric played fullback and was all conference/all region his junior and senior years. The things he was doing to other players looked like something that was on a video game. He blew up Defensive Ends/Linebackers every play, and carried the ball around 7 to 13 times a game, being a fullback that's a lot of touches. Pick played Tight End and had taken the tight end position to a whole new level making plays. The kid made one handed catches like it was an everyday thing, and developed into the quarterbacks go to guy. He finished his career being named to 4 different All American teams at the tight end position. A lot of hard work was put in for the love of the game, but when it was downtime when no films, meetings or classes were involved these two constantly messed around rapping in front of the players or at parties. They even bought the game get on the mic because you could sing along and freestyle. They never intended to blow up or get big they just were doing this for the love, not anything less, they felt if they could inspire one person then they have succeeded.

Pick had graduated college at that point, while he worked as an Intern at Duquesne University and he was working out for his pro day. Scouts had him as an (FA) FreeAgent Grade coming out for the draft meaning he had a chance to get signed by an NFL team after the draft. The draft came and gone no calls, only interests were three NFL teams one of them being the Dallas Cowboys but none of them would sign him. He then went the Arena Football League (AFL) route and had private workouts in three cities, Orlando, Chicago(twice), and Philadelphia. This was his true love as he put his all into it, but the Arena 1 season had eventually got cancelled because of the recession and left more players out of jobs. Then to put all of this into perspective things tuned for the worst again. Pick got into a serious accident as he raps about it in the song "When I'm gone". If you listen to When I'm Gone the story picks up from the party. He has changed his ways about his life and about the whole situation. People can have their doubts but this accident changed his life forever. People make mistakes, everyone does just think about the things you have done and not have gotten caught or things you havent told anyone.. People are just mainly afraid to express them. We are doing this through our music. He made the song to reach out to people who has ever been in that situation or for someone to avoid it. No one is perfect.

Until Recently, Pick and Rhetoric never had the proper equipment, but when Rhetoric had gotten some studio equipment that's when they got serious. They recently just released there first mix tape "Hooks", release date March 6 2011. This mix tape is 10 tracks with a shout out to everyone on track 11. There first single released from the mix tape is Pick's Blue and Yellow which reached 1000 YouTube hits in a day and a half. They currently live in different cities but write all the time on whatever inspires them. They come together a lot to lay down there items at High Gate Studios. They are not looking to make it big, they just want people to listen and enjoy their music. They take everyday a day at a time and live by a code. That code is- The Show goes on man, yes it does, Today is a new day, Yesterday never was. You can contact these two at RUIRecords412@gmail.com, so send them an email or go to www.purevolume.com/ruirecords, add them as a fan, and listen to there music.
