What's up? This is the first DJ forum I have joined, and I am impressed. I wanted to take a minute to introduce myself to all of you... I hope to get involved in the community.
I just started to DJ in bars and clubs close to 5 months ago... I started with virtual DJ, but wanted hands on interaction. So after messing with virtual DJ for a few weeks, I ditched it and bought some gear. Just jumped into it. I was way over my head for the first few months.. everyday, trying to figure it out.. piece by piece, and after hours and hours and hours of reading and watching videos, talking to the few DJ's that I know.. I think I can confidently say now, that I can finally throw a cohesive set (nothing fancy, but it flows); however, I want to take it to the next level--I want to make my own music, collaborate with other DJs, get my name out there, establish a following--everything a DJ strives to do. I live in the MidWest, the music scene here is mostly top 40--I love all types of music though, and people--ravers, hip hop heads, scratch fans, etc, etc--I love to entertain.
Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself--I look forward to working with all of you.
