Jay-Z Describes Back and Forth Lyrical Jabs with Lil Wayne as Sport

New York, NY – Jay-Z is literally the man of hour and apparently now not just in Hip-Hop, but also in the sports world and a father to be. Between him and Kanye West releasing their collaboration album, his Roc Nation artist, J. Cole, releasing his debut, soon to be top charter, and the welcoming of his first child, Hov is also busy moving his NBA team, the New Jersey Nets to their new home in Brooklyn, with a brand new arena. Apparently the last thing on his mind is Lil Wayne.

MTV News caught up with Hov on the red carpet of his ‘Shawn Carter Foundation’s Making the Ordinary Extraordinary’ carnival-themed fundraiser last Thursday and of course questioned about the recent back and forth between him and Lil Wayne.

Last month, the track entitled ‘It’s Good’ featuring Drake and Jadakiss off of ‘Tha Carter IV’ leaked to the net and apparently Wayne recited some choice words apparently directed at Jay and Beyonce.

Here is the Tale of the Tape:

On the ‘Watch the Throne’ track ‘H.A.M.,’ Jay spits:

“I’m like, ‘Really, half-a-billi?’ Nigga, really, you got Baby money/ Keep it real with niggas, niggas ain’t got my lady money.”

On ‘Tha Carter IV’ track ‘It’s Good,’ Wayne retorts:

“Talkin’ bout Baby money? I got your baby money/ Kidnap your bitch, get that how-much-you-love-your-lady money.”

According to Lil Wayne, who downplayed the feud between two during an interview with Vibe, he just states that certain statements just require simple repercussions:

“Every man should know the repercussions and consequences behind whatever they do before they do it. And of course, I know there won’t be any repercussions behind what I did.”

Now according to Jay-Z, the Lil Wayne feud was the last thing on his mind as he was more focused on the fundraiser and everything else he had in front of him to complete, however he did provide a simple comment to MTV:

“That’s sport, that’s rap music. Nothing is going to change but the participants. I don’t even see why that’s news.”

Interestingly enough, both ‘Watch the Throne’ and ‘Tha Carter IV’ albums were released within the same time period respectively, providing much competition when it came to billboard charts and sales. Either way you look at it, it also provided a great debate between old school and new school heads.

Keep posted to 24hourhiphop.com for more updated news on the ongoing mini-feud between Jay-Z and Lil Wayne.

The anticipation between the two albums was high in expectation no matter if you were a fan of Hov and Ye or Lil Wayne. As an old school head, it was obvious that I favored ‘Watch the Throne’ over ‘Tha Carter IV,’ not to take anything away from Wayne’s fourth installment, however this collaboration between the two has been in works for quite some time. Now in fair competition, let’s see Wayne and Drake respond with the release their own collaboration.

T.I. Quickly Returns to the Music After Release From Prison

Atlanta, GA – The Bankhead emcee has officially completed his 11 month prison sentence on the second go-around and has immediately began recording new songs for his fans. The music would surely keep them at bay while he begins the lengthy process of completing his new album to work his way back to the top of the charts where he was before.

Now the road ahead of him shouldn’t be that long, apparently he already has several tracks prepped and ready for release, as a matter of fact, some have already leaked proving to the fans that he is out and more than ready to work. With the release of his latest buzz single ‘I’m Flexin,’ produced by the talented Big K.R.I.T., he is doing just that.

“My hustle grand, my money long, my spot on top but y’all want that/ My position vacant, my crown away but my throne is empty, I own that.”

As he spits on the second verse over the instrumental’s nimble drums, keys and electric guitars, it seems as though he hasn’t lost a beat.

According to MTV, T.I. appeared on Atlanta radio station Hot 107.9, giving his first interview since being released from prison. During the interview, T.I. gave praise to the current movement in his hometown of Atlanta with the surge of new rappers and said that the city needs his help.

Since his return to a halfway house to complete his federal sentence, he has featured on songs with 2 Chainz (aka Titty Boi) on the ‘Spend It (Remix), Future’s ‘Magic’ (Remix), and fellow trapper, Young Jeezy’s ‘F.A.M.E.’ However, the track ‘I’m Flexin’,’ which was released via Tip’s TrapMuzik.com website, is the first song credited to mark his return.

Longtime T.I. collaborator and friend, DJ Drama, has even co-signed the recent release. These were his comments:

“The record is hot,” DJ Drama told MTV News about “I’m Flexin’ ” earlier this week. “Big K.R.I.T. deserves it. He’s been working for a long time. So they’re both fans of each other, so shit is definitely gonna be a nice sound for the ear.”

T.I. even chimed in on his twitter stating that more music is on the way:

“Niggas in Paris already a dun-datta…pending Ye&J’s approval. ‘Sleezy’ w/Ke$ha & ‘Magic’ w/Future too…what else???”

And of course, it was only fitting that the reigning ‘King of the South’ make his royal return as he opened the 2011 BET Hip Hop Awards alongside Young Jeezy as the two performed ‘F.A.M.E.’ during the recording of the show this past Thursday.

In related news, T.I.’s upcoming novel, “Power & Beauty: A Love Story of Life on the Streets,” co-written with David Ritz, has been set to be released on October 18.

Keep posted to 24hourhiphop.com for more updated news on T.I. and his return.

It’s good to see that T.I. kept up with the Hip-Hop game during his time behind bars. I am quite sure that with all that time, the pressure must have been building up to hit the booth. Can we expect some heat from the ‘King of the South?’ Let’s see what the emcee has up his sleeve.

Drake – Headlines

With the release of his sophomore album quickly approaching, Drake releases the latest visuals to his single ‘Headlines’ for all the fans.

‘Take Care’ has been slated to be released on October 24.

Now honestly, does Drake have the material and hype to live up his debut album ‘Thank Me Later?’ Let’s wait and see.

I wasn’t fond of ‘Trust Issues’ or ‘Marvin’s Room,’ let’s hope there are more uptempo songs like ‘Headlines’ on the upcoming album.
