Astoria Queens – Raised in South Ozone Park (Lincoln Park) in New York, Young Tameeka’s musical journey began at the mere age of eight, when she’d chronicle her feelings in a journal. Following the death of a relative, Tameeka was unable to cope, and found writing was the ultimate outlet for her hurt. Tameeka has taken what was once a hobby and creative therapy and turned it into a career, building an empire of music production and clothing wear as the CEO of her company Kimsha Records LLC and Kimsha Wear. Inspired by the classic rappers and R&B singers of the 1990’s, Tameeka’s influences are Queen Latifah, Missy Elliot, Foxy Brown, and a host of other hip hop powerhouses that have helped shaped the female music landscape to be what it is today.

The artist expressed that rap has changed, and it’s music is void of a story line. “Rap isn’t lyrical like it used to be,” explains the artist, “There’s no story line anymore. It’s just a nice beat and no one is saying anything.” That is, until now. Tameeka isn’t afraid to tell the truth and has been at the front of the social justice fight with her music. Her latest project, A World With No Direction, produced in collaboration with Kelvin Knight Productions and The Sounds of One Arm Bandit, and Track Productions, is an anthem of the fight against racism, discrimination, and prejudice that our country experiences. The song “Battles” is a plea to civil rights leaders and beyond to help. “I have a lot of respect for black life matters and other organizations that's trying to make a difference.
