Last night, Chicago’s hometown hero, Chancellor Bennett, triumphantly returned to Grant Park for his second year in a row at Lollapalooza, and last night he closed out the three day fest by headlining the coveted closing slot at Perry’s stage. Chance ran through his growing catalog alongside a full band, singing ensemble, dancers (including Bop King DLow) and a light show to rival another one of Chicago’s greats, Kanye West.

And despite the mud and rain, Chance brought his supporters out in droves, who sang along throughout his set and partied like the weekend was coming to an end (spoiler alert: it was.) But one of the most shocking and surprising moments of Chance’s set was when the rapper brought out the legendary Robert Kelly, who helped him finish out the melody on “Acid Rain” and then went into his own mini-set including some bars from “Bump N Grind,” “The World’s Greatest” and “Ignition (Remix.)” So yeah, it was pretty wild. People were walking past Chance’s stage in disbelief, not knowing if the DJ was just running through some Kells hits, or if the Pied Piper was actually on stage.

All in all, it was a great outing, further cementing his place as one of the most major players in the music biz today. If you missed his set live and missed the livestream, we have some footage for you this morning. Sure, it’s not super high quality, but you get the idea. Well done Chano.
