Jay-Z May Be In Violation of NFLPA Policy

The NFL Players Association may investigate Jay-Z's Roc Nation Sports management company. The NFLPA reportedly is planning to send a letter of inquiry to Roc Nation Sports agent Kim Miale regarding Jay-Z's actual involvement in trying to get recruit New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith. Smith announced last week that Roc Nation would be his new representative after firing his agent Jeff Nalley following the NFL Draft.

The newly instituted "runner rule" prohibits agents from having associates who aren't NFLPA certified agents at recruiting meetings and Jay-Z is not currently certified.

Smith's advisor John Thornton told CBS Sports, "I was in those meetings and Jay-Z connected with [smith] on many levels." Thornton later claimed he was misquoted.

Further complicating matters, Smith posted a photo on Instagram of he and Jay in a meeting.
