  • Biography
Automatic Ray was born Adrian Ray Sox on May 7th, 1989. He was the first of ten siblings, born to his mother, Latoya, and his father, Ray. He spent most of his early childhood in the care of his grandmother, due to feuding and miscommunication between his parents, as well as the lack of understanding on his behalf as a child.

He grew up in the suburbs of East Point (located on the southside of Atlanta, Georgia) during the first decade of his life. After the loss of his grandmother, he relocated to Lithia Springs, Georgia; a quiet, suburban town with little to no grasp on the genre of music he would come to partake later in life. It was at this point in his life that he gained his first real taste of what music was to him. He began listening to artists who had made a way for the newer generation of Hip-Hop and R&B, such as The Notorious B.I.G, Tupac, and Big Pun. Shortly after acquiring his newly found love for Hip-Hop artists and the music they created, Automatic Ray was then introduced to a far more influential type of music that sparked an interest for making a name of his own- Southern Rap.

At the age of 15, Automatic Ray began to put together songs and perform them for his friends, who were mostly kids with similar interests in music. Rapping and singing became his main priority. He was infatuated with the affect that Hip-Hop, Rap, and R&B were having on his life. Now living in Bankhead, he was surrounded by the musical influences of the ghetto and the struggle that spawned the careers of some of Atlanta’s greatest artists. He began working on his first mixtape the following year, entitled “The Process, Volume 1," which consisted of his very first recordings and original production done by his close friend and producer, JGymini.

Now, at the age of 25 years old, Automatic Ray has performed in more than 20 venues across America, with over 90 original songs and 30 collaborations recorded throughout the history of his career. He is constantly reinventing himself, taking every measure possible to ensure success in the entertainment industry. Now molded into an unstoppable force with the talent of some of music’s legends, Automatic Ray sets his sights on being recognized as the greatest of all time. “To be me is to be the best” says Automatic Ray; “I wouldn't have it any other way."
