In 1982, HipHop was at a all-time high and the song that was playing all over the country at that time was "The Message". From New York to Miami, from Atlanta to L.A., everybody agreed that the inner city was like "a jungle, sometimes it make you wonder, how I keep from going under". But the parents of Darrell "2win"(pronounced to win or twin)Mitchell were adding twin baby boys to their family with their 3yr. old daughter, living on a military base in Monterey, California. 2win grew up in a stable family with both parents on the base and went to school outside of Fort Ord in the inner city of Monterey, where there were drugs, gang life and all the other societal ills you find living in the hood. But they maintained balanced. Man, woman and child. After spending many summers back in Georgia where both parents were born, they finally moved to Atlanta in 1995 where HipHop had just really started to gain a new perspective of the South's expression of the street culture. 2win and his brother were embraced by their neighborhood, in the Cleveland Ave area known as Zone 3. 2win became a leader among his friends because he was always inspired by the many books he read growing up like "The Art Of War", "The Art Of Seduction" and the "Thoughts Of A General". These books were molding the mind of a leader who wanted money, power and respect and even though he flirted with rapping and hiphop, he wanted to get it from the streets. Just like his peers, he listened to Tupac, Biggie and Outkast but he was busy making "juugs" or getting money from the block. His crew became legendary all over the city and the name "125" became a part of the fabric of the "American Gangster" folklore in the city known to world as The ATL. The city of Atlanta has produced more trappers/hustlers turned rappers, *successfully than any other city in the HipHop Nation in the last decade. After watching hustlers he knew from the street life change their walk and pursue the rap game and make it big, he decided to follow the footsteps of Jeezy, Gucci, T.I. Rocko and Shawty Lo. One thing he didn't have to prove was street cred because he was part of street legend at a young age. All the doors opened for him when he started building on his rap career just a few years ago like it was something he was meant to do. He was called. He was chosen. He has worked with super producers like Insane Wayne, The J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, Street Market, Zaytoven, Slade The Monster, Hot Rod, Selassie, and Z M D. He has even worked many known artists like Nicole Wray, Jagged Edge, Kelly Rowland, Parlae(The Franchize Boys), Slick Pulla(CTE), Boo Rossini, Verse Simmons, Block 125, Daron(112), Tyra B, John Geezy, and Chubby Baby. Even Atlanta's DJ's give him respect for work because they hear the choice. They heard the call, they came, they chose. His introduction to the industry, two years ago, "Bricks to Marble" on the DJ Scream/HoodRich, "Heavy In the Streets" brand allow him to be part of Plies "The Realest" tour during 2007-2008. His new single "Em All' is getting love by the clubs and the people in the streets. And all the DJs are paying attention 2win is in this...... to win.
