my guess would be that they released a new copyright protection system that when u rip their cd's, it drops in this drop in certain songs in certain places...and atrium just didn't know about it, and thus didn't check for it. now that its known, they will probably be trying to find a way to rip the cd's without the drops

X-Mix compilations are among the best out there... I think I might have a work around, but i would need a legit CD... and some free time (which is scarce right now) If X-Mix was smart, they would just make thier discs available on a per track/disc basis for an a-la cart price, similar to an i-tunes, etc. I have no problem paying for music/tracks... if they are reasonably priced - and I think all the compilation services out there are a little overpriced.

It really suprises me the ideas that the members here come up with regarding the widespread "bad" copys of certain new x-mix releases. There IS NO way of creating a copyright protection system that creates extra audio in a track when you use a software program to rip it.

This is called X-Mix finally getting SMART and releasing a really good looking altered-version including copyright drops (hopefully you didn't spin these at the club) into the filesharing crowd. Most of us thought we were pretty smart to download the .rar file because it had all the recognizable dashes in the filename, along with ATRIUM (well known) at the end. Haha.. we were fooled! Laugh it up and move on!
