It’s been nearly five months since Pop Smoke was murdered and no arrests have been made.

But a break in the case could come soon. In an interview with Ebro Darden on Apple Music, the late Brooklyn rapper’s manager Steven Victor said that the investigation into his murder is “way closer than it was a couple months ago” and that those responsible will be brought to justice.

“I’m getting information from Pop’s criminal attorney and he’s in communication with LAPD and the detectives out there,” said Victor. “It’s definitely way, way closer than it was a couple of months ago…Justice will definitely be served.”

Pop was shot and killed when four masked men entered his rented Hollywood Hills home on the morning of Feb. 19 and fired multiple shots, fatally wounding the 20-year-old rapper, who was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

According to TMZ, security footage appears to show that his murder was a targeted hit and not a robbery as initial reports suggested.

On Friday, Pop’s posthumous debut Shoot for the Stars Aim for the Moon was released. Co-executive produced by 50 Cent, the album features appearances from Roddy Ricch, Quavo, Lil Baby, DaBaby, Swae Lee, Future, Polo G, Tyga, and more.

After Pop’s death, 50 pushed for the album to be finished. “50 was like, ‘You can’t be depressed and stop the legacy that he was building,'” said Victor. “How do you expect everyone around him, in terms of his family, to benefit off of all the work that he put in? It would almost be like everything happened in vain if you don’t put the album out.”
