Before Kobe Bryant’s untimely passing, it seems to be, he was mending fences. One particular relationship that seemed on the way of being mended is one with Dwight Howard.

Howard revealed on Tuesday that Bryant had agreed to come to Chicago to help him out during the Slam Dunk Contest, per Dave McMenamin of ESPN. Howard added that it was “heartbreaking” that he never got a chance to tell Bryant how much he appreciated him.

Howard and Bryant were teammates for just one season back in 2012. Both players couldn’t get along and the following season when Howard was free agent, he didn’t hesitate to leave LA for Houston.

Like the Lakers have vowed to play the remainder of the season for Kobe, you can be sure Howard will likely pay homage to the Laker great at the slam dunk contest.
