Mac Miller lives on.

After announcing his sixth and final studio album Circles earlier this week, the family of the late rapper has released the first single “Good News.” The whimsical video, directed by Eric Tilford and Anthony Gaddis, features imagery from Miller’s career.

“Why can’t it just be easy / Why does everybody need me to stay?” asks Miller. “Good news, good news, good news / That’s all they wanna hear / No, they don’t like it when I’m down.”

Circles serves as a companion to 2018’s Grammy-nominated album Swimming and was completed with help from producer Jon Brion, who had been working with Miller on Circles at the time of his passing in September 2018.

The project showcases Miller’s singing voice in addition to rapping, with inspiration from T. Rex (“Surf”) and John Lennon’s Plastic Ono Band, along with a cover of Arthur Lee’s 1972 single “Everybody’s Gotta Live.”

In honor of Miller’s music and legacy, there will be three fan pop-up events in Los Angeles, New York, and Pittsburgh on Jan. 17 and 18. The exhibitions, in partnership with Amazon Music, will feature immersive listenings of Circles in Ultra HD audio, as well as a multimedia fan art exhibition and exclusive merch. Entry is free and all net proceeds from merch sales will go to The Mac Miller Fund.

Circles will be released Jan. 17 and is now available for pre-order. See the tracklisting below.
